OEM Wiper Blades

Hi All

I need to replace the wiper blades on my 2016 TRD Pro. I’m planning to buys some online but before I do I wanted to double check that I have the original 4Runner wiper blades. I bought my truck used so I’m not 100% sure my blades are original but they look original to me. Can someone confirm this for me?

Thanks

The wiper blade assembly is OEM Toyota, not sure if the blades are. Probably are.

OEM is usually a good choice but for wipers, I don’t think OEM is necessary. I buy wipers made in the USA from wipers123.com: Trico Ultra.

The Piaa Aero Vogue Silicone Wiper Blade looks like OEM and are very high quality. Only one better than made in Japan OEM Toyota refills. I replaced my OEM wiper bodies since they were soooo sun bleached after 7 years.

Save your money. Just replace the blades alone. Dealership prices are cheaper for set of 3 blades than getting full set of wipers. My 2cents

Nobody asked, but I replaced my OEM blades with blades from Scrubblade and they've been great. Had a few days so far this winter where it was cold and dry enough for the wiper fluid to freeze, and the Scrubblade blades still cleared the dried-up salt and other bad news kicked up while driving at highway speeds.

I was shocked to find out recently that all the major auto shops like Auto Zone no longer sell wiper blade inserts, at least in my area. Now, everyone only seems to be selling the entire wiper blades and they want to charge a arm and a leg for them. Surprisingly Toyota dealers sell wiper blade replacements cheaper than what you can buy at the auto stores. One sold them for $13.50 but the other dealer sold them for $17.65 (not cheap) but I found an even better deal on eBay. All 3 for $25. 2010-2022 4RUNNER Front and Rear Windshield Wiper Inserts NEW Genuine Toyota OEM | eBay

I know that PIAA and The Boch Icons have the best reviews. Ideally I’d like to see PIAA sell the inserts for the 4Runner

By the way has anyone heard about using this on your wiper blades. Suppose to make them last longer. 303 Products - 303(R) Automotive Protectant (#30382)

Word of caution when purchasing from this seller on ebay. I purchased wiper inserts from them a couple of years ago and the inserts they shipped me were very dirty and came in generic (vice oem) packaging. Not convinced they actually sell OEM wiper inserts.

Thanks for the heads up. I will avoid them then.

scrubblade, not scrubbable (or scrubbale).

None of my local dealers sell the refill blades separately. You have to buy the whole assembly.

My nearest Toyota dealer is 127 miles away, so lower OEM prices are more than eaten up by gas costs.

I bought my ‘18 SR5 used in ‘19 and it had the old style wiper blade where the spring assembly is in the open. I replaced them with RainX blades from a local Carquest. They work just fine and are still on the truck. My 4Runner sits outside since I don’t have a garage. I live in a dry climate with frigid and snowy winters. They’ve lasted and still work well.

The 4Runner windshield isn’t that big, nor does it have a complex shape, so any quality wiper blade should work fine. Sometimes it takes some experimenting to find a blade that doesn’t chatter, streak or miss. It took several tries with my ‘12 Subaru Outback, which has a larger windshield and I’ve found that only a couple of brands/models are those that doesn’t chatter.
