There is that old adage. But I'm less of a speeder in my old age.

I'm liking the red 4runners more and more. I usually dislike red cars so this feels strange but I'm digging the 4R in red. Graphite/ dark/ black wheels seem to set it off nicely.
Now give me a guards red Porsche 928... oh my... yes please

Agree, much better with black accents. I like the black TRD wheels, but wonder how they'll look in 5+ years being a semi mat paint on Aluminum. Thinking the Gun Metal gray would look good too, and hold up better over time.
On a subconscious emotional level, the red is more of a "fun", less dreary color than all the "shades of gray" black, MGM, Silver and white 4Runners. Some people like the badass look of the MGM and thought about that color too, but not so sure at this point. Bottom line is red is totally acceptable, given the limited stock allocations dealers are getting.

I’ve had probably 10 red sports cars and never been pulled over in one while living in several different states. I think that’s a fallacy.

I was originally gonna get Nautical Blue but BRM showed up first and I just went for it. I had a Natural White 4th Gen and after owning that for 8 years, I was over just blending in and the lack of character. Don’t get me wrong, I loved that thing but at the ripe age of 42, I was ready for something fun and something that popped a lil.
To answer some of your other questions…. Specifically with scratches, I’d say Midnight Black Metallic and Nautical Blue are the worst. Followed by Barcelona, Army Green. Magnetic Gray, Classic Silver and Superwhite are pretty forgiving.

I've want to put bronze wheels on mine but wasn't 100% on it but seeing yours makes that decision a lot easier. Looks so nice!

I thought I might, since the vast majority of vehicles I've owned have been white, but I don't. This color has really grown on me. I bought a BR 2019 ORP used because the options and price were right on target for me. I don't regret the color for a second.

I almost never see them "out in the wild", only on the internet. There are a decent number of red vehicles out there, sprinkled amongst the vast sea of white, silver and gray vehicles. But few seem to have the same color red as the Toyota Barcelona Red.
When I walked up to the one at the dealership I thought it looked great. It's got all my Must Haves (KDSS), but not my "Wants" (rear sliding cargo deck and Multi Terrain Monitor", but started second guessing myself because I've never owned or even considered a red vehicle before. Also, when I told my older brother, he said RED??, like there was a stigma about driving a red car. But he's driven white Acura MDXs for the last 20 years, so I tried to ignore him. I DO think the BR looks better on the 4Runner than red does on most other cars.
I can drive her home at $0$ over MSRP this weekend, which is a HUGE plus, since my local dealer said 2-4 month waiting list and $3000 dealer markup.

Barcelona Red is cool cause it kinda changes colors depending on the lighting. That's one of my favorite things about it anyway. When I was shopping I was choosing between the BR red ORP and a white OR and my eye just kept drawing me back to the BR. I think if you have any reservations about it now before you buy it you might want to steer clear since you may regret it later. But I don't think you will!

Yeah, kind of a "shape shifting" color, very cool.

I originally ordered the Magnetic Gray color, but changed my mind and called the dealer to change to Barcelona Red. So glad I did!

Was waiting for my Rosie six month - basic SR5 no options and love it. Its a second one - first one 2010 was also red. This color definately not for dirt diggers.
