Fuel Pump Recal Obaervations

Had the fuel pump replaced under the recall at about 270K miles on a 2014 SR5. Felt A bit more power after it was replaced. However, the average highway mileage on the dash dropped from low 19 mpg to 17.8 mpg. Have not calculated it by hand after fueling.

Fuel Pump replaced in 9/2021

Actually i noticed both a small seat-of-the-pants boost in power, and my dash mpg measurements went up from around 18 to 19.5 for the past two yrs.

Im thankful they pulled the trigger on correcting whatever it is they thought needed it. the airbags, now the fuel pumps...on a paid off vehicle at that.

So I filled the tank to the brim in St George Utah and we went 381 miles to Fullerton, California, with the cruise range saying we had 50 miles left. If it truly is a 23 gallon tank, that comes out to about 3 gallons left and a 19+ mpg.

Only been a couple weeks since the replacement, and since we're remote full time our trips are very short; 2-4 miles in town for grocery runs and such. Normally see 14.5 in town on winter fuel but since the fuel pump replacement it's been 12.5. Dog dirt to say the least. Hope it's a fluke, will continue to monitor. We have a 2019 TRD ORP w 11k miles.
