(Another) KDSS Lift/Level Post

OK, I'm going to lead with the usual "I used the search function" however I really am in a rush. I'm not looking for anyone to build my rig for me, I just want anyone who has direct experience with what I'm about to do to chime in, and if you're willing to read this novel then thanks in advance.

Here's the story; I bought a 2016 Limited BP with nav/KDSS last weekend, at a (non-Toyota) dealer out of state. Tires were questionable but I drive very low miles and figured I'd get through the rest of this winter, and then replace them next fall while sneaking a lift/leveling kit in when the wife wasn't looking. I'm so smart, she'll never notice... sure.

Fast forward to today when I have to go get a MA inspection sticker, and I fail for "excessive wear on the inside of all 4 tires." Initially, I'm pissed because I pointed out the tire wear when trying to negotiate and ultimately gave up (granted this was in a snowstorm and I didn't look closely at the inner tread). I call the dealer, argue a bit, and they tell me they'll call me back. Miraculously, I get a call back 10 mins later and they are going to be mailing me a check for tire replacement. Now I'm happy because the quote I got for 4 Yoko Geolanders and a 4-wheel alignment as quoted by my local Toyota dealer will just about cover an inexpensive (read "cheap spacer") lift and a trip to TownFair Tire to upgrade to 33s.

To be clear, I know this is the cheap way out. I built my '98 SR5 properly and had a lot of fun in the woods. I've built race cars and I've built classic cars. I am fully aware that I'm sacrificing a lot by throwing spacers in to fit 33s so I can feel like the cool kid at school again, and IDGAF. This Limited is like my wife's Mercedes stuffed inside my old 4runner, and I love it. I'm going to daily drive it and occasionally tow a popup camper and live the straight-up dad life. I didn't even know it had KDSS when I bought it (neither did the GMC dealer it was traded in at) because I didn't get under it until it was home. I bought it because the wife insisted on dual climate control and it had 3rd row. Only now am I fully appreciating all the bells and whistles of the Limited package. All I want to do is keep the KDSS ride as much as possible but get a better stance and a little more ground clearance. Turns out I always thought I was a TRD Bro but deep down I've just been lying to myself this whole time. Cooled seats, sunroof and JBL for the win...

Anyway, I'm in somewhat of a rush to figure things out. I want to get it level. I also want to get some bigger tires without a ton of BMC (although I am about to do Antman's mod and slice my rocker cladding in half to fit aluminum predator steps, so maybe I don't know what I want anymore). Long story short(er), here is what I think I am going to order;

1. 2003-2015 4Runner | 2007-2015 FJ Cruiser LRT 3" Lift Kit
2. 275/60R20 BGF KO2s or Nitto Terra Grappler G2s

I've done my reading and I know everyone says under 3" lift is fine with KDSS as long as I don't touch anything or follow the FSM for releveling. I've seen the KDSS lean posts too and know I'll have zero outside adjustability with a spacer lift, but my truck is within 1/8" of level side to side right now and I don't plan on screwing it up. I'm more concerned with stuck bolts than KDSS at this point, but if anyone's had issues I'd really like to know. I'd also never go more than 2" in the front without a diff drop so I chose this spacer kit thinking it's "one of the better ones" by including that and the skid drop spacers. I know the tires I'm suggesting are supposed to be mounted on a 7.5-9.5" wheel and my Limited has 20x7 and that point has been argued to death, but I'm not in the market for new wheels at this point unfortunately and I'm comfortable with that choice.

Again, what I'm hoping to gain from this post is that anyone with any direct experience or photos relevant to these mods share their experience before I start ordering these. MY BIGGEST QUESTION IS CLEARANCE IN FRONT OF THE FRONT TIRES WITH LIMITED TRIM AND NO CUTTING??? I just want some feedback from someone who's been there before I rush to get this done and get an inspection sticker to avoid a moving violation.

Thanks in advance. Man is it great to be back in a 4runner and out of my pickup.

I just realized the lift kit link says 2003-2015 but on the website it says in the Title and under the "Applications" tab it'll fit 2010-2018 4runner with KDSS

Ummm...

Limiteds don't come with KDSS. They come with X-REAS. Whole different animal. Now you'll have to start your research all over again.

Slow down, take it easy, switch to decaf. You'll figure it out.

Switch to decaf? I need to switch to N/A beer. Jesus, thanks man.

I saw the "KDSS" fuse when replacing my blown 12V outlet fuse last night, looked under the 4runner and saw a cylinder on the frame rail and hydraulic lines coming from the shocks and was like "damn, I didn't know I had that."

Turns out I've got a ways to go before I'm as comfortable with this thing as my 3rd gen. It would help if I could find a FSM; do you know where I can get an acutal paper one so I'm not trashing the laptop in the garage?

Guess I'll start researching XREAS lift/level kits...
