How badly stained/dirty is it?

For our 21TD03 Recall for the Tacoma 3rd Brake Lamps, Toyota specifically wants us to use either ZEP Foaming Glass Cleaner or Toyota Genuine
Glass Cleaner with a micro fiber cloth to attempt to remove staining from the headliners.

I didn't think it would work that great, but I have a can of the Toyota stuff and it works really well for cleaning up a headliner if I accidentally get a spot of grime on it or if I am helping a customer out.

Here's a section from the technical instructions detailing how to clean the staining out of the headliners.

Thanks for the tip. Do you think this is the same ZEP product, just in a different package?

eek.. dont use anything harsh.. the headliner is very thin and delicate.. id honestly just use a microfiber towel and automotive soap... too much scrubbing you'll be down to bare plastic

I’m a former heavy smoker. The headliner was caked with tar/nicotine. I tried a bunch of diff products, tuff stuff, zep, etc. They didn’t perform well and they were expensive. I now use vinegar, baking soda, water, and a dash of lemon juice. This works flawlessly on nicotine/tar. Save your money for the good stuff and just make this up at home.
