Sony Xav-ax8100 with Android Auto with SXM

Hey friends!

wanted to know if any of you with this Sony head unit who also use Android Auto and SXM and notice how SXM functionality goes to hell while using AA.

the channel +/- button is programmed to my steering wheel controls and in "normal" mode just goes through channels sequentially.

while AA is active, the steering wheel controls turn into the "skip" or next song, and i realize something is up when i see NO SKIPS on the screen and i'm still on the same station.

when you click the small SXM icon on the AA map screen, you'll be taken to the now playing screen, which offers a CH +/- option, but you click that, it changes the channel, but then takes you to the next screen which is recommendations page... such intuitive flow imo

anyhow, so frustrated with this aspect of the HU, but otherwise it does it's job.

anyone else use AA out there? or are you all iphone people?

I've noticed this as well on my Kenwood DNX994S, some of the steering controls get taken over while in AA mode and don't function as programmed in the idatalink Maestro RR. I guess the module thinks you're in AA and any media you're playing will also be inside AA.

You can post the question on the idatalink forums. They are quite responsive and will even send you a custom firmware if you work with them to test possible solutions.

You can install the firmware mod apk at heyhey.net, it might help you in this case.
