Most folks that get stuck in the sand haven't aired down enough. IMO a high lift is over kill for the beach w a 4Runner. Plus they're big, heavy and dangerous if you don't know WTF you're doing. We regularly wheel a 5ton camper on the beach w a trailer and even in the soft sand going over the dune exits haven't gotten stuck. Like others have said we keep two bottle jacks....one stock and the other a Safe Jack w off road base and all the fancy extensions. In the last 20 years I've gotten 2 flats...both from popping a bead w low pressure and was able to swap tires w the stock jack and a board. Now I also keep a ratchet strap so I can reset the bead w the tire on the truck.

Looking forward to spring surf fishing!

These guys make some improvements on the bottle jack. They also sell a cool plate for stabilization.

Safe Jack - 4WD, Outdoor,Off road, 4X4 accessories and products.

I replaced the one that came with the vehicle with that setup.

That's what I have, it's good stuff. The accessory extensions give you options in where to place the jack which can be helpful off road.

Instead of messing around with a farm jack, you could go this route…
