Saw this in my email and i've been wanting to do something like this for a while. What I don't see is where this goes. Does/can it replace the cigarette lighter? Does it fill the slot where the current USB port is?

Anyone? Bueller?

It would go in one of the rectangular knockouts. As far as I know, you can’t replace the lighter plug.

Not sure what the difference in size is. I’m thinking that all of the ones in the 4Runner are the same size. Im also curious if it has a light in it. All the ones I’ve seen on Amazon have an internal led and that’s kept me from buying one.

I guessed that they offered the large and small size as the switch housings to the left of the steering wheel can be large or small cutouts. But that doesn't make sense to me because why would I ever install a USB outlet in that switch bank? The only place that makes sense is the area under the climate controls.

As far as the light goes, I do not believe these are backlit. It looks like the lettering is sprayed on. That's a big plus for me too. I'm going to just send an email and ask what's up. This doesn't add up.

Edit: Found a 5th gen install vid. The new port replaces the USB/aux port next to the cigarette lighter. Looks like it pulls power from the cigarette lighter (lighter port remains functional). You can also add to the 2 open ports next to your rear hatch control if those aren't filled with heated seats switches. I'm pulling the trigger and will throw some pics up when I do.
