Does cabin air filter do much to reduce dust inside with system on Recirculate?

Another newb question about the 5th Gen...Our new '22 is our first vehicle with a modern, filtered Climate Control system.
I always understood the purpose of the Cabin Air Filter was to filter dust and pollen from incoming air from the outside world. But does it seem to do much to reduce ambient dust inside the cabin that settles on our black interior when you run the system on Recirculate?

Yes. The filter sits right above the blower fan and regardless of intake damper open or closed air has to go trough the filter to get to the fan.

makes sense because once in awhile i'd find leaves and twigs that make their way to the cabin filter.

Has anyone else seen the rear Cabin Vents where you need to remove the rear bumper to install? Think they're made by four cam

I read somewhere that that vent is to exhaust the cabin when you close the doors. Makes the doors close easier. They should be One-Way so dust won't go back in.

Every vehicle should have them already and you shouldn’t have to install additional if that’s what you’re asking. They are one way valves. In recirculating the flap stays down and blocks the vents. When outside air is pulled into the cabin it creates positive cabin pressure and air is constantly exiting via rear vents.

Kinda like a hazmat suit that has built in filters and fans to keep positive pressure in the suit so foreign contamination cannot get into the suit.

Yea could you imagine the discomfort in your ears if that positive pressure had nowhere to go while you shut the door.

My old standard cab F-150 was like that, had to throw the door much harder to close than if a window were cracked.

Here in West Texas it has been like the Dust Bowl in Kansas the past few weeks. Walls of dust 10k' high and constant blowing dust with gusts to 60mph have been the norm for a few days. Recirculate makes a huge difference in keeping dust to a minimum. I use it all the time and rarely have to actually dust my vehicle.
