Lines have been cut by previous owner - what are these?

Hey everyone. Just got 2010 T4R Trail Edition with 150k mi, no KDSS.

Just did a very careful re-inspection of undercarriage and noticed that lines have been cut off at some point in time. Doesn't look like ABS based on the diagram.

Anyone know what these are? Is this something I should be concerned about?

Thanks.

I'm going to go with parking brake line too. The KDSS lines run up the sides of the frames from what I remember. You can double check how it was originally equipped by putting your VIN in to here Log in to your account

On closer look I believe that is your OE brake line! Someone has run a new one and zip tied it to the old pieces from what I can tell.

I like the sound of it much better!

Parking break works fine. Yes, based on the diagram of parking break line, it is split into two lines (right and left). This one is one line.

Attachment points are also different from parking break line. The ones in the picture look just like the ones in the break line diagram.

Thanks everyone.

Expanding the pics I'm starting to wonder if the original line didn't rust out. There's something going on with rust back there which should be probably be addressed at some point. What is the black soot looking stuff on everything?

It's not a big deal to replace those clipped lines with replacement OE ones, they aren't long. $20-30 in parts.

It’s the OEM brake line. You can see the new one they ran above it going to the brake hose

Yes, that is probably what happened. Breaks are working fine right now. I may take the old lines out and place the new one that has been attached with ziplocks back in place. I am not sure if replacement is necessary.

Compared to what I have seen on other undercarriages, this is nothing. The car spent most of it's days in NY, so there is rust build up.

I have no idea what that black soot is. I was thinking at first that someone painted POR15 over rust, but after a closer look it doesn't look like it. There is a bunch of that stuff on the spare tire took. I would say about 2 mm thick.

Catalytic converter has also been replaced.

I was thinking of cleaning undercarriage real well and painting it with POR15 after I do basic maintenance on the car. Everything is in working condition, and there is no deep rust anywhere.

The bolts are pretty rusty though, and zerks on propeller shaft have rust build up as well. I am sure PB Blaster will take care of that.

Decided to redo my rear breaks entirely. Anyone knows the part number for that hard break line? Diagram on the parts website is very confusing.
