I have heard no 6th Gen until '24, but wouldn't buy the first couple years of an all new design, especially if they go to a Turbo 4-banger. The new Seuoia also dropped the roll down rear window, after it's been a signature feature since Day One, like on the 4Runner. But it will probably have more power, better gas mileage, and an 8 speed transmission. Give it a couple years, then if it looks like a winner, trade in your 5th Gen.

I have seen his videos. I thought he was North Carolina.
I was looking at the Ltd trim, blue, black interior and cargo tray, since its a hot item...
I wont buy a first year, even with Toyotas reputation of quality.
Tundra is having a few teething issues, but Toyota will have it worked out..

If you do end up withe a Ltd, here's a nice bonus feature that only comes on that trim...

Make sure to check for frame rust as 4Runners (and for that matter Tacomas and Tundras as well, for that matter) are well known for it if from states that salt the roads. Hope it works out!

Sounds good, and you've done your homework. I ran a bunch of 4Runner VINs on Toyota's website when I was looking at Used. I remember seeing a couple on Carvana that originally sold at hard winter states , and immediately took them out of the running. But assume Carfax records would show something like that too.

Online at toyota, it talks about a safety recall for a fuel pump.
But, it doesnt say if it was done. I am sure the dealership, toyota, can tell me if it was..

After tax and license I paid a few bucks over $36,000. I added Toyota 4Runner all weather mats, cargo liner, privacy cover and rear cargo net for another $400 give or take. A couple months later, after slicing open a sidewall on the OEM tires, I had a set of BFG All Terrain TA KOs in stock size installed. The truck has been left as is since. I’ve been very happy with it.

^^^ This. I paid 36k for my brand new 2018 SR5 Premium with rubber mats, cross bars, and cargo cover. Toyota recently offered me 40K with 22k on the ODO.

They know they can flip it for a profit, due to us (ie me) people needing a vehicle.
If I didnt need one, I would wait it out.

Went to dealership , just to look up fuel pump recall. Mine was on list to get it done.
So, even though I dont have the truck, I went ahead and scheduled after tentative date of taking ownership.. Service person explained the issue, low fuel pressure pump may not get signal from HP pump in engine bay to pump fuel.. He said, they have never had a vehicle in with this issue to where it may stall. But, they have had a few check engine lights associated with it.. He was surprised its been almost 2 years and the dealership in Dothan Alabama didnt fix it. They showed servicing of the car its entire ownership there..

I would think a dealer would by law have to fix any Recalls on a used car they are selling.

Service manager was a bit surprised. The carfax and service history do not show it done, yet on Carfax it shows the recall right before some service getting done.
Is it possible they did it, and just didnt annotate it? I mean, they get paid by Toyota to do it..
recal was noted 10/28/2020 then the car was next seen 2/15/2021 and had alignment checked then 10 days later, tire rotation. 20 months later battery, oil changed.
End of year, traded in to same dealer then sold to place I bought it from..

Hmm, I don't know, but hard to believe that it wouldn't be in the records if they did the work, labor hours billed, parts purchased. I thought everything done at the dealer is part of the vehicles Permanent Record that can be looked up. I suppose the part could have been on back order and the owner just never got around to getting it done? Either way, if the computer doesn't show it ever being done, I think they (the current selling dealer) is obligated to fix it on Toyota's dime, even if it was already done but no record of it.

Its getting done once it is shipped here.
I know I have had recalls on my daughters vehicles. When traveling and wife working 6 to 7 days a week, sometimes we have no time. No great excuse, but sometimes you blow stuff off.
Maybe that is what the owner did.
I wrote an email and talked to a lady at the dealership. They said they would look into it.. We shall see.
