Purchasing a 5th Gen advice.

I am looking at the limited in 4wd. One thing I have been researching is, what is the latest interior upgrades on the 5th gen?
And, what differences are there if any, between 2018 to 2022?
Thnx in advance..

You're buying a Toyota truck, friend. There are no differences between a 2010 and 2022... other than more emissions BS and pointless bugman/housewife low-effort electronic marketing gimmicks to break and cause problems.

Personally, I would just go Lexus if looking at a Limited.

Toyota safety sense in the last couple years: adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, collision mitigation, etc.

Yep, this is why I didn’t buy new. Happy with the bare necessities setup in my ‘18.

Thnx for the updates, I hate adaptive safety controls in vehicles. Been driving allot of rentals with them. Not a fan..
So the 20 and 21 have these controls then?
2018/2019 sound good if so..

I shopped both and disagree. I wanted a surround camera which is standard on Toyota. To get this option on a Lexus GX460 you have to purchase the Luxury package. $50,000 for the Limited, 70,000 plus for the Lexus. And as much as I tried to like the looks of the Lexus I just couldn't. And that swinging rear door....oh my!

Lol! My other "daily driver" is a 1968 Ford F100. That is bare necessities (my 56 F100 had still fewer necessities).
There's a lot of "necessities" that I don't use on my 17 4runner

Different era, different "necessities".

Haha. Those are luxury cars compared to my Volkswagen Thing.

On a more helpful note: I have the ‘22 Off-Road Premium. It has all the gizmos. But they’re always missing the mark just a little bit. For example, my truck has adaptive cruise control. So does the wife’s VW Atlas. Her car will slow down to a full stop in traffic and then continue on, with no driver intervention. With the 4Runner, if the car comes to a complete stop you’ve got to hit the gas and then resume. The 360° camera on the Atlas is crisp and clear. On the Toyota it’s distorted and blurry. One doesn’t buy a 4Runner for those types of goodies. One buys a 4Runner for the off-road capabilities.

One major reason I want the limited, is really the looks of the body.. The other 4runners fronts are a little off. I know there is allot of function in the front bumper area, but the front bumper looks odd to me...I like the front end of the limited...
I will change the tires and wheels, and go off roading...

My 2019 SR5 Premium has more than I need! Old school: Give me 4Hi and 4Lo selection, good tires and I'm fine. With age comes discretion!
