Which 3M double sided tape for pro grille garnish?

Got a replacement pro grill coming from 4runner lifestyle to try and fix issues with the first one… not sure how a new identical set will help, but they said it has in the past. Anyways, the tape they include seems cheap and might be part of the issue, so I want to be prepared with new tape. I ordered some off Amazon, but it came in super thin.. .025” (.6mm), and substantially thinner vs what I remember coming on the grille.

What did everyone order or buy?

The tape that comes with some of the emblems I have gotten has a layer of foam, certainly not thin. I have not used this, but found it on Amazon : Amazon.com : 3m double sided tape automotive super strong

I found this tape works best, https://www.autozone.com/sealants-gl...ape/517034_0_0

I have purchased some from the internet claiming 3m, but I believe they are not as the same quality as the one I have listed from a retail store. Some online ones I've bought are thinner and less sticky from my experience.

typically i prefer 3M VHB if I need to mount anything that needs to withstand the elements. but make sure you get the legit 3M one, there's too many counterfeits nowadays.

Second to @lunar_t4r 's 3M VHB: it's my go-to for anything that needs to be stuck together. I keep some in all my cars as well as travel trailer.
