I'll still be around. You can't get rid of me that easy. Someone has to defend KDSS to the death. Haha. It's a fun community here. Hopefully I'll be back in another 4runner soon. Was hard to let this one go mostly because it was really setup just how I wanted it. I've never had a Toyota that I didn't end up regretting selling. Maybe my 89 truck, the 3.0 kinda sucked. But it was still a fun little truck. But the Tundra doesn't really excite me much to be honest. It's just kinda meh. The 4Runner was just more fun.

dog and crap in the bed. bigger cab works better with 2 kids and their stuff for road trips.

we also have an f250 and i prefer the truck for road trips even tho the bed isnt covered like the back of the toyota.

full size truck cabs are wayyyyy bigger then the first 2 rows of a 4runner. its a crazy difference.

What year was the F-259 diesel? Did it have the 6.7? What problems did you have?

Congrats on the new ride. And holy crap, 200 Series prices seem way down.

I keep seeing dealers trying to charge $100k+ for non Heritage models with up to 20k on them

My boy just got new Tundra shortbed deems like back seating is standard legroom ? Was Sequoia a little too $$$$$$$ ? I was looking at one at Sema wow all rear seats yanked & fold-up beds & all kind of cool sh*t but 80k+ yikes

It was an 07 with a 6.0. It only had about 106k on it, but it was a 6.0. I thought - how bad could a 6.0 really be? It can really be that bad. And I did't have any of the really major stuff. Just a couple injectors, an EGR valve, a high pressure fuel rail o-ring, a catalytic converter plugged up, and a EBP sensor go out. All within about a year's time from when I bought it until I sold it. Ugh. It basically broke down every time I drove it. But - silver lining - I actually made money on it despite about $5-6k in repairs in one year on it because the truck market is so good. I can't believe people will pay $20k+ for low mile 6.0, but that's the world we live in now. I was happy to see it go.

When it wasn't belching black smoke or dying on me - it was really nice to drive. Powerful, smooth, reasonably quiet. Mine was totally bone stock down to the wheels and tires. No tunes or any mods. It was just a beater truck to have around for towing and hauling stuff. And when it was running it towed and hauled like a champ. Just not reliable enough to keep as a daily driver.

I think the 6.7 was finally a decent motor for Ford. My brother had one for a few years and had nothing but positive experiences with it.

Sequoia was an option for sure. I test drove a few. Might have been better off in a Sequoia. I just ended up finding a Tundra I liked. And the bed is nice for bikes and strollers and stuff like that. Just more cargo capacity. And easier to carry stuff like skis in the bed. Might get a new sequoia for my wife depending on details when they come out. The MPG has to be better than the tundra to seriously consider it. It's probably more $ than a new Rivian R1S that's probably on top of the list at this point. Hard to justify the sequoia over the Rivian if we already have a Tundra for towing and road trips. Especially if the Rivian is $10-15k less expensive.

I didn't measure, but the new 22+ tundra interior feels smaller. I'd guess it's at least a few inches shorter leg room in the back. The 2nd gen tundra rear seat is something like 45 inches. It's huge even for me. And it's wide enough I can put two kids seats in the 60% side of the split bench and put the other side up for a dog area. So it just fits our family better. New tundra seems smaller in person than the old one. I actually kinda like the size okay, but the interior got smaller I'm pretty sure. For my use I'd be okay with the size.

I would buy a new tundra maybe in a year or two once they sort out some of the build quality issues. And it sounds like it's already improving as it goes. I'd really like to see one as a PHEV though.

I think we're going to see 100k mile LC200's hit the $25k range soon. I see a handful of 150k mile LX570's in my area in that range already and they're falling pretty fast. I suspect the new sequoia will really depress the market as a bunch of LC200 owners move to the new Sequoia. Especially if gas stays high. But who knows. It's just an aging vehicle that isn't very fuel efficient in a time when gas is expensive. In 30 years they'll probably be collectable and 10 times what they cost today.

Yeah the 6.0 was problematic and very temperamental. They can be bullet proofed, but that will cost you up to $15K. When it’s running right, the 6.0 is a robust performer.

My son has an F250 with a 6.7 and so far it has been a good performer.
