On-Road Suspension -

I just picked up my 3rd new 4R (a '22 SR5P). Had a 3rd gen and a 4th gen previous. As expected I love this one just as much as my last two, except... I would like the stock suspension to be a bit less "squishy". I know, odd - right!? ;o). I don't plan to off-road it at all, its going to get a set of Michelin Defender LTX's, and at most, see a dirt road here and there, maybe pull a utility trailer or a couple wave runners / snowmobiles now and again and that's about it for this vehicle. Living in New England we get our fare share of potholes and frost heaves, so that's my terrain. With that, who has swapped out the stock suspension (shocks / springs), with NO lift or level, for something that gives a slightly "sportier" ride? I'm just looking to take a bit of the mush out of the ride and maybe lessen the body roll some. Do I go with something like a set of 5100's with a next-level progressive spring set up? Or...? Not really sure the best path so thought I would ask the group here to see what people have done, and been happy with the results. TIA!

5100s are the way to go for sure. Cheap and a huge upgrade.

I gave in and bought the 5100 series trd pro during a clearance sale and it was well worth it. Ride is a firmer and it "sticks" while on ramps making a turn. The 4runner is tad more level , less body roll and little to none nose dive.

Would go with the 6100 series over the 5100 if doing any off roading.

FWIW I have done plenty of offroading with my 5100s, fire trails and more technical stuff. They have served me well both on and off road.

Progressives will be squishy, you'll want something disgressive like Bilsteins or Eibach.

Thanks for all the info, thinking 5100's are going to be the choice.
