Wrecked, need a solid body shop + 4 sale items (socal)
Long story short... I hit a concrete pole that tore through my fender. Thankfully the C4 bumper is rock solid and stopped further damage.
Not going to post photos, as i don't want to see it and relive it over and over.
Looking for any strong recommendations on an off-road body shop to give me a proper assessment of suspension and other damage
Possibly will be selling a hybrid C4 bumper + winch (Smittybilt X2O 12K )+ rigid 20" light bar. If any interested, please PM me for photos.
Lastly - anyone with good information on damaged trucks w/ modifications. How to best handle, advice.. etc..

Question on this thread -
My traction light won't turn off and alignment is way off.
Checking suspension and everything looks fine to me. Any idea which part to check specifically OR how I can turn off the traction control light?

My guess would be that the ABS sensor isn't reading. Either damaged wire or sensor. That's what I'd look for first if it hit the suspension on the one side.

Damn you knocked your alignment out! Steering angle sensor may be picking up on this disabling your skid ECU. If your frame rails behind bumper mounts are parallel/undisturbed, structurally, you should be fine. Until you can get aligned and zero point calibrated hold down on Trac off button for awhile to disable your skid ECU completey. Poles and trees 😂

Easy. DTM Auto Body in El Monte. They are not some stupid body shop that just tries to do crappy, high-volume insurance work (though they will of course do work if it involves an insurance claims). They are 1 hour from me, and when I need body work I make the commute. Of course, last time I used them was before COVID. I've heard there is a shortage of highly skilled workers. Not sure how body shops have been affected. I know there is definitely a shortage of good mechanics lately.

Was this with the aftermarket bumper? How did that hold up? The feeling bad is inevitable. Time to move on
Thanks,
@ Something_Awesome
, I will give them a call.
I updated my post with the current state lol

I see the picture. Can't speak to DTM's knowledge on mechanical damage, but their body work is as good as you could hope for and well priced in my experience.
Good luck.
EDIT: If you're going back to the stock bumper, I'd get the black TRD Pro valance if possible. You will need to swap out the rear silver valance as well (assuming that's a TRD OR model).

Oh, if you want a shop to see what's wrong with your 4Runner mechanically, maybe give 88 Rotors a call. They are not that far from DTM Auto Body, so it'd be a short tow. They are not a full service shop, but they can tell you what's wrong with the suspension and alignment etc. I think they work on Toyota trucks exclusively. I've had something done there. They are extremely popular in So Cal. You might have heard of them. You can look them up on Youtube. They post their work there.
Anyway, just a thought since 88Rotors is close by. They know A LOT about 4Runners and off roading.

Ha I felt that way too for a few days like I just got dumped or cheated on. I built that bumper myself and it held up pretty good. It saved most the front end. I did get stranded deep in the dark forest though. The power steering cooler line rubber connections hang down in it's factory position and got torn off. Power steering pump seized shortly after. I relocated them higher up!

It was a fun one! Luckily I was able to get off the trail I was on to a more traveled dirt path. Spent the night in the truck because I was a little f_cked up. Woke up the next morning still haven't seen a soul. I don't have phone service and I was out of emergency 911 signal. Had to start walking to the highest point a few miles and finally got a signal and provided coordinates. Half a day later they found me and got me a tow that cost more than fixing my girl up. That's why they say don't go solo. F that though I only go solo. I got a emergency gps beacon deal now after that learning experience. 🤠

That is wild! Glad you are OK and made it out in one piece, biologically speaking.
Yes, GPS phone on hand 100% of the time.
