C4 skid plates

I’m wanting to add skid plates to my 4Runner and think I’m set on the C4 brand. Do they normally have good sales around Black Friday?

I have had mine on for over 9 months. Ordered when they first came out at about a 20% savings. I got the trans/transfer case plate and the TRD Pro integration plate. Took 15 weeks to get, then I had to get them powder coated, as C4 does not offer it. I purchased the rear diff skid with the electric E-locker guard on the forum for $250 new. I really like their diff skid.
If I had to do it over again for my uses I would buy some aluminum skids that offer optional factory powder coating. The weight really affected my gas mileage between 1-1.5mpg and lowered my 4Runner on the factory TRD Pro springs by about .75". Something to think about.

I got the RCI skid plates several months ago on sale (I think it was 15% off):
2010 – 2022 4Runner – RCI Off Road

I got their aluminum integrated front (works with the factory TRD plate), the transmission and transfer case plates, all painted at the factory. Very pleased with them. They generally have them in stock, i.e. no waiting.

Thanks for the response. That definitely gives me something to think about.

RCI was the other brand I had considered. I like the thought of aluminum for the weight savings and I won’t be sliding off rocks. Mine will be used in bottoming out in mud holes.

Edit to my initial post: it was about 15-16 weeks to receive and at the time the customer had to pay shipping.

Is the lack of an oil drain plug access panel, like on the RCI skid a big deal? Or is the hole access plenty big enough without being aggravating?

C4 has done BF sales in the past but they didn't do one this past year. That being said they do offer a 10% discount for forum members. Can't remember the discount code. It might be in their vendor section, or you can just email them.

There are zero issues with the oil drain access panel with the RCI plates. Adding a Fumoto valve makes it even easier and less messy.
