5th Gen Texas Hale Storm Damage Butthurt?

How well does the 5th Gen handle the hale storms in Texas? Or anywhere for that matter?

How common are dented rooves, dented hoods, cracked glass (if it not already crack from road gravel) etc.

The insurance lady said to me “Hale in Texas is real”

Great. facepalm.

Many years a go I had a 1976 Pontiac in Michigan and we had a hale storm that made that car look like a golf ball

theres no real answer to this. hail varies in size and varies by storm not by location. pea sized doesnt really do anything, marble sized may leave a ding or two, golf ball will cause several dents for sure, anything bigger is sure to damage the metal and possibly crack glass.

About as bad as any other car. Maybe even worse due to the large surface area of the roof and hood.

We get hail in CO throughout July. Mine is parked outside. No damage yet.
Just do not drive during a hail storm. My wife did it in her 2016 Tucson (that, thankfully, we were able to dump back on Hyundai - what a POS) - and she had to have a ton of work done after that. Like 12k worth.

Seems to handle them pretty well..

Had a few golfballs coming from the sky a couple weeks ago and only found one dent on the roof and a tiny dent on the passenger side afterwards.

My wife's 2020 4Runner handled about 20 minutes of nickel to just under quarter size hail during a tornado in Wichita last month. This included driving at sub 50mph speeds too. No damage to report.

Hail

It doesn't really matter what size your vehicle is - depends on size and quantity. My last truck (2006 Expedition) was parked outside in Colorado Springs (2016) when we had a bad hail storm (not that long, but seemed like forever) ping-pong/golf (maybe couple larger) - totaled due to dents that cracked the paint on the roof (ridges of roof design). Lots of dents and cracked windshield. Still drove it for another 3 years though. Hail is no joke - looked like a war zone in our neighborhood....
