Installing roof rack, what about the OEM weather gutter strips??

Hey guys, I put my Sherpa crestone on the other day. I noted on my limited when I took off stock rack, it had the roof gutter weather strips sort of held down by the old roof rack plastic corners where its secured to the roof. What did you guys do with these strips? Remove them? Glue them in place? Wasnt sure if leaving them open for water or snow to pool in them would be a good idea longterm? Right now the passenger side is floppy lose and will fall off, drivers side sort of in place but not really.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Water will get there regardless. The blocks seal pretty well to the roof. remove them if you want. I kept them. if they won't stay, clean the strips and the area well and use some 3M tape to keep them in place.

When my rack was installed, the weather strip was trimmed too short so it was easy to catch wind from driving or the car wash and would fly out. I ended up getting a replacement from the dealer as they’re pretty cheap and trimmed it to be flush with the feet in the rack and put more 3M tape down. No issues since.

Yeah, just the kind from the auto parts store. grey foam tape with the red film to keep the adhesive part covered until you use it.
