This is why I advocate for DT, they will continue to do whatever it takes to make it right, to make sure your experience is stellar. I went through 2 sets of AT3's then went with the Coopers...

I'll be using the America's Tire in Granada Hills/Northridge. That has always been my preferred America's Tire. Never seemed to like the others much.

So if it works out, you may want to go to the Granada Hills/Northridge America's Tire on Balboa.

Went to the Balboa Blvd America's tire, and here is my report after 30 miles of driving (tires inflated to 34 psi):

Wheel shake - There is some minuscule shake at the 60-64 mph range. It's really nothing though. I went as high as 84 mph, and the only time I would feel anything is in the 60-64 mph range, and it was barely noticeable. To be honest, sometimes there was no shake. Perhaps it was a combination of the following factors: road conditions, the stiffer tires (115 load rating vs OE 113), the stiffer nature of KDSS, today's removal of the spare tire and wheel (more on this later). Ultimately, I am extremely happy and content with the lack of steering wheel shake. Totally relieved. I could film a video if desired.

MPG - Have not driven enough to say for sure. However, it will still be higher than what the vehicle was getting day 1. I switched to premium fuel a few weeks ago just to experiment and noticed a 1.2 MPG increase in fuel efficiency. Decided to not post my findings here because they are controversial. Efficiency went up. My driving habits are routine. No out-of-the-norm driving for me. And since day 1 I have been driving in a manner that keeps the ECO light on as much as possible (this is second nature for me since driving my wife's Lexus CT so much). I also just dropped the spare for good, which makes a noticeable difference. Lastly, I almost exclusively driver streets (except for today's test). Removal of the spare will also help my MPG.

Ride Quality - No noticeable increase in road noise. But I have the TRD exhaust. The most noticeable thing about this tire is when making sharp turns. Even though the load rating is only 115, I can most definitely feel that these AT3's have a much stiffer sidewall than anything I had driven on in the past. Noticed instantly on sharp turns. The OE Duelers had a lot of flex. I do not know what your preferences are, but this is a huge positive for me. Ride quality is a little firmer than the Duelers. Not much of a noticeable difference (except on sharp turns). I will add that the lack of a spare does contribute to the increased firmness, so it could be that. I removed my spare while I had the Duelers on for a short period, and ride quality did stiffen, which was to be expected. I just did not think I would notice so easily. I am very happy with the ride quality. I should disclose though that I hate very soft rides.

I love the tire so far. I am wondering though if the wheel shake at 60-64 mph is even wheel shake at all. I was driving in a very heightened state of alert, looking for even the tiniest amount of wheel shake. It may have been just been me anticipating wheel shake. I'll probably go for a spin later today.

Thanks for that report. It will be interesting to know if a few hundred miles affects the shake, for either better or worse.

For what it's worth, I've got AT3's in the p rated 265 size. Was definitely a pain to get them balanced. Used Discount Tire.

After 3 or 4 road force balances (unsuccessful), finally took it upon myself to swap the spare tire in (still stock Dunlop) to try to find which tire was giving me the vibration. Ended up replacing one of the tires through Discount Tires protection program.

Still deal with minor vibrations to this day that come and go. But I'm fearful to go get another balance since they likely could make it worse.

For my next set of tires I'll probably purchase from a reputable 4x4 shop and go with their recommendation on what plays nice with these vehicles.

Gonna be honest, I don't have vibrations like I originally thought. Some people, when they do a mod, get so hyped over the mod or change they did to their car that they become temporarily desensitized to the drawbacks. Examples: roof racks or exhausts that make too much noise but the vehicle owner says it's not that bad, then after the hype goes away, they realize it's worse than they originally felt.

I am the opposite. When I do a mod, I get hyper sensitive to my anticipated cons. There is no wheel shake.

I have an example of hyper sensitivity in another thread where I added an extra LFD crossbar and complained about an increase in wind noise. I took the extra bar off yesterday and noticed no difference. There is no increase in wind noise.

The point of all this is to provide an explanation for my sudden flip-flop. I have no wheel shake. And I do not understand why. 115 rated AT3's (which is the P rated). They are mounted on the black TRD pro wheels and the vehicle has KDSS. And I doubt the people at my America's Tire are gurus. They're all kids.

I will add, I am afraid to get my tires rotated now at the dealer. I got a hunch I'll get wheel-shake for some reason after my balance.

I posted this on another thread. Just did 4500 mile cross country trip on brand new Toyo AT IIIs load E. 255/80/17s with a lift (pizza cutters). Smooth as glass on good roads. Very good on washboard dirt roads. little noise. Didn't need an alignment. I was at 4deg on old tires.

I like them much.

Honestly sometimes these shakes work themselves out. My Wildpeaks gave me the 60-65 mph shimmies for a few months despite countless balances. Then one day they just stopped and never reappeared for the 55k miles I had them.
