Thoughts or facts

I just installed the the trd cai. I am not sure if the filter is already oiled. It was sealed in plastic inside plastic in the box.
Also, once I need to clean it, is K&N cleaned and oil satisfactory? Apparently the trd oil/cleaner is discontinued.

Thank you

Chris

You filter should come already oiled assuming its new.

The cleaning kits come with a spray bottle of cleaner and a drip bottle of oil (sometimes aerosol). You should look at the filter for dry spots. Most aftermarket intakes have colored oil to see dry spots on the filter. In your case the TRD oil is an OJ / brown color so not super helpful.

If the filter seems really dry reach out to their support line and you should probably reach out to them for what available cleaning & oil kits they recommend anyway. Obviously be sure you read all the instructions. BOL

I'm 99% sure that K&N made the kits for Toyota/TRD. The TRD stuff looked the same as the K&N kit I ordered for a customer a while back just with TRD branding. As for if the filter comes pre-oiled, I think they do? It has been a bit since I installed a TRD CAI.
