I took deliverary of a '22 TRD sport 2 weeks ago. I assumed there was some remote capabilities as far as unlocking, starting, etc, as well as locating. I downloaded the app while I was at the dealership. I added all the needed information and was able "link" to my new 4runner. The first message that it gives me is that the app is having issues with tire pressure information. But then I get a screen that just gives me vehicle satus, health and alerts, and service appointments. It will also give me an odometer reading and estimate fuel. What I don't see it the remote connectivity screen that I've seen online that lets you control the lock/unlock, remote start, etc.. And when I click on the "find" feature on the bottom app, it locates MY current location (my phones?), not the truck.
So while doing some research, I've read that I may not have remote connectivity to start/stop, lock/unlock, etc. Which I think is bogus (if this is the case) considering my wifes close to 4 year old Subaru Ascent has these features. But that's fine. I can't really remember having to use these. What I can't get to work is the locate.
So my question is, do I need the remote connectivity to have the locate feature working? Is there anything else extra I need to do to get this and other features to work?
Thanks

Not sure I know the right answer for you for I’m going by what I know on my 2021 RAV4.
First, you need to have a subscription to the Toyota connected services. There are several: safety connect, service connect, etc. My dealer set those up for me when I got my RAV4. You can find what you are subscribed to on the app. They are free for the first year or so. After that, you must pay a subscription fee.
Second, what connected services you can subscribe to depends on what trim level and what audio system you have. The ability to lock/unlock etc is available only on the higher trim levels and audio systems.
You should be able to find what is available for your specific vehicle on the window sticker or the detailed sales brochure fro the Toyota web site.
