If this is the case, mine could be worth more than when I bought it.

Do you plan to sell ASAP? Otherwise, it's kind of meaningless what Carmax is listing at. Dealers have been throwing crazy list prices on desirable used cars and seeing who might bite. The market is changing though. The supply chain issue is getting better and inflation and high interest rates are starting to impact both new and used car sales.
I've been in the market for a 2002-2004 Corvette Z06 for about 4 months now. The asking prices were beyond bonkers and the crazier the prices got, the more Z06s started popping up as these sellers figured suckers were paying those prices. Thing is, hardly any of them are selling and remain for sale for months on end, even at dealers. Just until about 3 weeks ago, have I seen the asking prices start to drop and some actually becoming somewhat reasonable. The point being, stupid high list prices for new and used cars is subsiding and will likely plummet over the next 6+ months. If a recession hits, a number of people will lose their jobs and many of those people bought cars at stupid high prices and will be desperate to unload as they can no longer afford the cars.

Not sure about 02-04 Z06 but it’s crazy how long the C6 Z06’s have stuck right around $45k. At least since I started paying attention in 2015… flat… level though COVID dip and post COVID surge. Doug Tabbutt from VINwiki was dead accurate about Corvette sellers. A weird bunch.
Is this about what you’re seeing early 2000’s C5’s go for, too?

$45k-55kish is what I've been seeing C6 Z06s listing for over the past few months. I don't know what they were selling for prior to this year though.
Prior to mid-2021, C5 Z06s were going for $20K-35K depending on year, mileage, and condition, and to some extent, color. It's been $30K-45K for most of this year, but most anything with a $32K+ price hasn't sold. I've seen some $40K+ ultra low mile C5 Z06s sitting on Corvette-only dealer lots since January. I don't know how you stay in business if you're not selling anything.

I sold my 2022 Toyota 4Runner limited to Carmax today for $52,000. I paid MSRP, $50,195, plus tax, three months/3200 miles ago.
The guy at Carmax told me my vehicle would most likely wind up on the west coast where the market is much better than Central Ohio.
For reference, the dealer I purchased it from offered me $47,000.

Your funny. I bet my limited could rip your rig in half on any decent back mud road trail. Course if you feel better going cheap and getting an entry model thats your choice, but on a hot day ill feel for you as I turn on my seat cooling vents.
The idea that a base model with part time 4wd is superior to one with full time and a center locker is funny. The only negative the Limited has is lack of a rear locker.

I have both a Limited and a TRD PRO.......yes they are different- it's nice to have a choice
I also have 2 landcruisers - FJ80 and a 100 series.........yes they are different - it's nice to have capable vehicles that are super reliable.
For those that don't need full time 4 wheel drive - buy the one that best meets your requirements / use cases........

I actually have been thinking more about adding a rear e-locker just for fun. way too much for me to do myself. but I think it would be a cool experience to have a shop to do the actual work while I can observe and learn.
my transmission/4x4 has been bullet proof though with not a single issue in 10 years 158k miles. I would kick myself if I did this mod and started having problems though which is why I haven't done it yet
