I've got the same question about the drain fitting/hose, am debating about just buying the funnel and wrench or the kit with all three components.

I like the oil filter drain thingy but I don’t bother with the tubing.
Seems like other people don’t bother draining the filter at all before removing it but I got a lot of spillage that way.

i have all 3 tools and like them all. Just less mess overall.
