My doors are locked I need help

Hey guys I tried changing the lock actuator on the drivers side but accidentaly closed the door without connecting the cables on the lock and door handle. The inner door panel was already in place. Does anyone now how I can open the door? Help please. Thanks

Im guessing your key is also inside of the vehicle...thus you cant simply key the drivers side door manually??

i dont think there is a magic pill for this...an auto locksmith might be your next phone call sir...

secondly...your vehicle didnt come with a 'valet' key? where you could try the drivers door or the rear window up-down key-knob maybe...?

any way to pull back the panel some and use a tool to release it or remove the handle plastic cover area to try from that area\

When I installed new speakers I had the locking pin not installed all the way and the door wouldnt lock on me. Your situation is a tad more difficult though

If you have the smart key system you can use the mechanical key in the smart key to open the driver side door. Also you should be able to open the hatchback.

TO prevent this next time(s):

Go to a locksmith and make a copy of the actual key.
It won't start the car but it will lock/unlock the doors.
Put the key in your wallet. Done.

You can make a second copy and hide it somewhere under the car in case you also lose your wallet ... :-)

ok ok i get it guys.. he's trying to repair an actuator.. he's not locked out of his car.. he's trying to reopen the driver door to finish the repair BUT his door panel is already put back in place.. his cables are all removed from the inner door handle so he cannot just pull on it to open

umm good luck?

Can you use your spare key to unlock another door or the tailgate or tailgate window?

Locked all his chargers in the car. Cut off completely from civilization at this point.

To be fair, this is a bad predicament to be in. I was there myself when repairing the locking actuators for mine. I was in the truck with the door panel on (that was my first mistake, door panel on very very last people. Lessons learned didn't happen on the other!) So I was testing the hook placement for the closure mechanism. The door closed and the cables that pull the closure mechanism weren't attached correctly. The door would not open with anything. The outside door handle, the inside door handle, nothing. The locking portion would unlock / lock but the actual door closure would not open to allow the door to open.

I ended up having to somehow take the door panel off while siting inside the truck just enough to reach my hand into the section where the closure mechanism was to activate it by hand. It was very stressful for sure.

I am there myself right now.
Daughter had broken the forward (hinged Part) part of the outside handle of the driver's side rear door. It still operated if you pulled the rear part of it out straight. I accidentally pulled on it in an angled manor and the handle broke off completely. I then went inside, tried the inside handle and it would not open either.
So now I'm left with trying to get it open destroying anything.
Any info I have found with an open door.

So without any other input I took a chance.

This is what I started with.
https://www.toyota-4runner.org/attac...1&d=1661223160

I tried to break the rear portion off with a set of large channel locks to no availe.
The plastic is pretty tough.
https://www.toyota-4runner.org/attac...1&d=1661223160

Next came the multitool and even it took a long time, the chrome is very high quality and very thick.
https://www.toyota-4runner.org/attac...1&d=1661223454

Here is the rest of that piece with the protruding part that keeps the handle in place.
https://www.toyota-4runner.org/attac...1&d=1661223581

With all the broken pieces of plastic removed I then was able to open the door from the inside.
https://www.toyota-4runner.org/attac...1&d=1661223581

Now to replace the outer handle.
What a relief!!!

Hope this helps someone in the same boat.
