I got 152k miles out of my factory XREAS until one shock started weeping. that's 152k miles, not km, so about 240,000km. not bad but I also don't think many people that have XREAS are as lucky as me. I replaced all 4 corners once and next time they fail I don't know if I'd replace them again. my rig is already 10 years old so maybe I'd go with a dobinsons or bilstein or something "simple". those hard lines and actuators won't last forever. I don't mind the ride with them but I also don't have 20" rims, I have 17s with a 265 M+S tire

I have removed the 20s a few weeks after getting it on one of my Limiteds. Now I only run the following on one limited, the other limited stays stock with 20s and XREAS still so comparisons are easy.

MT Cooper ST Pros 265-70-17 8 inch wheel 40psi-42psi C rated
AT BFG K02 265-70-17 8.5 inch wheel 40 psi E rated
Snows Blizzak DMV2 265-70-17 P rated 32psi

XREAs is an interesting system but like most all in one systems its generally ok on most stuff but never really shines on anything either. I ripped it out and went with Kings, which have been far smoother in comparison, even when valves are set on stiff.
Mud terrains are not going to give a good ride,or handling and road noise will be high, plus terrible mpg.
The xreas system I doubt would be conducive to running aggressive tires.

There is less brake dive than expected. I test drove a new limited 4yrs ago and it had a lot of brake dive.Around the same.time I also test drove a trd offroad with kdss and that dive was not as apparent, interestingly thre sport feels closer to the offroad from memory but that could be just a bad memory.
Does the trd sport have different suspension tuning to the limited?
my understanding is that the Sport and LE are the same except the LE 4x4 has the AWD/torsen center diff and the Sport has the regular 4wd version. i doubt this makes a handling difference in normal situations, but might be wrong. both have XREAS and the same wheels, so i suspect there is little real difference between the two.

Most likely as there has been no mention of suspension tuning differences, unless there has been some improvement across the trims in the last 4 years.
It would be interesting to hear from someone who has driven the different trims recently.
Most of those idiots on youtube are clueless.

I was surprised how firm the trd sport felt with the xreas
The fulltime 4wd on limited should improve the handling more than xreas, that is a significant advantage.
