I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the forum members for the LASFIT H11 headlight review. I was impressed to make the cut as I told Emma from LASFIT in advance of being selected I don't get involved with any social media and I was only interested in doing an honest review here on T4R.org. I was given a discount code to use for the headlights on Aug. 10th and LASFIT had them to my door in Florida by the 13th.

A lot of my review is going to sound repetitive with what other members have said, and even LASFITS own advertising, but I think it is important to put out there anyway as it at least shows some consistency with the quality output of the company.

The headlights were shipped in a sealed USPS bag, mine arrived with no damage to the box whatsoever but this does seem like a bit of a gamble with the post office. The actual product packaging is very good quality and seems like it would protect the bulbs well from rough handling.

With one of each bulb still installed as above, the next two photos show the Peak Hold LUX reading from about 25 ft. away on my workshop door. I moved the meter around in the beam pattern to find the brightest area for both bulbs. The LASFIT LUX reading is 1085 compared to 643 for the factory halogen according to this Amazon lux meter I picked up for this test.

The cutoff line for both lights is very similar. I did not make any adjustments to the housing for this test.

I had not driven my truck anywhere today so both housings were at the same temp when the LED was installed in the passenger side for testing. These next few photos show the temp gun readings I got right in front of the bulbs, and on the back of the dust cover. These readings were all taken back to back so the run time for both headlights was the same other than the few seconds it took between measurements. I pulled the temp gun out from under the hood after getting the dust cover readings just to make it easier to photograph.

LED front shown for measurement distance consistency only. My 10yo son was helping me get these pics with his Ipad and I think he deleted the photo I needed. I was getting 98°F on the front of the LED housing so the housing is staying cooler than with the Halogen.

LED Dust cover temps, you can see the bulb is running hotter than the halogen, but the fans in the dust cover are doing their job pulling the heat out of the housing.

Now for the good ones. This is in my back yard, and the distance to the tree line is about 180 feet. I replaced the stock halogen into the passenger side housing at this point so the photos are full stock Halogen, vs. full LASFIT H11 LED. I tried to be very consistent with the focal point and resting the Ipad on the steering wheel in both photos to make the comparison as clear and fair as possible.

All of these driving photos are just with the LED's. I'm disappointed with the moving shots from the Ipad but I can honestly say the headlight output is drastically better than stock without being obnoxious. I drove around for about 30 minutes and did not have anyone flash their brights at me. These seem to cut through street lights better and not get washed out. They also seem to have more consistent and full beam pattern illuminating the sides of the road better. I don't feel like I'm overrunning my headlights or straining to see at night anymore.

After the drive I pulled out the temp gun again and shot the same passenger housing and it was now only reading 99°F after running around all this time. There was no issue holding my hand on the housing.

I wanted to find something negative to write so this doesn't sound like some paid review or something but I couldn't find anything to fault with these headlights. Everything from the company communication to packaging to the wiring connectors seem to be of good quality and the light output is much better than stock. Installation on the drivers side is pretty tight with the larger fan/dust cover because of the factory battery location but it is not making contact with anything. I do need to double check that dust cover when it's light out tomorrow to make sure I have it seated right but this is not anything I would count against LASFIT. I was honestly searching the forum for bulb upgrades I could use in the stock housings when I saw this testing invitation came up so the timing was crazy. With that being said I would not have been disappointed if I'd paid full price for these.

I told LASFIT I wouldn't post a review until after 90 days so I could get some sort of "long term" review but I wanted to go ahead and get all these photos uploaded and throw out my initial impressions. I plan to continue to update this thread and I will be monitoring the housings to make sure no dust or condensation issues come up. I live in FL so these will be exposed to a lot of heat & rain. I also have some wheeling trips coming up in the next couple months so possibly mud and a lot of vibration. I will be running my lights at all times just to get some hours on them and will make sure to report back if anything comes up.

Nice review. Can your meter do a Lumens comparison or show spectral output curve for evaluating the low and high end of light spectrum? Intial pics look nice, thanks for the review. Ive gone through a few LEDs for fronts and many dont last long and gradually fail, ive switched back to Phillips overboosted halogens which are just so so.

No, this is just a cheap meter I bought from Amazon for the purpose of trying to quantify the maximum output between the two lights at the same distance. This test wasn't performed to any industry standards or with calibrated equipment, it was just meant as an apples to apples comparison and not a lab grade measurement of the exact LUX output.

You can tell from the photo of the door, and referencing the panel joint of the garage door in my two meter photos the maximum light output is roughly at the same height for both bulbs.

The beam patterns on the door and the shots in my backyard are all I can offer without trying to set up some elaborate test plotting the light output at different measurements. I should have noted before that the truck did not move in the photos from my yard. I took the shot with the halogens, then R&R the bulbs with the LASFIT H11's and took a second shot within a few minutes. Both shots were with the truck running @ idle and no accessories running on so the battery voltage would be the same. I should also note that the ground in my yard is not even, what looks like a hot spot in the LED photo is where there is a high point on the ground.

I do hope these bulbs stand the test of time. Like I said I told LASFIT I was going to hold back the review for 90 days to get some time with the bulbs, and they were OK with that. I decided instead of sitting on the review and letting life get in the way I'd go ahead and post up my initial thoughts and update the thread as I get some more time with them.

Im glad I caught this. I actually just installed (I guess older) Lasfit yesterday. Overall initial impressions are nice, but I have a question.

Do your lights flicker in DRL? The ones I have flicker and its annoying. It stops when they are put into regular headlight mode.

I also noticed, they come with a vented cap now. I put the cap back on mine. i wonder if it will be an issue, the directions didnt say not to.

I’ve only been running these in standard headlight mode. The DRL’s are on the high beam circuit, these bulbs in testing only replace the low beam halogen bulb so I don’t see how it would be related but I’ll check if anything weird happens when I turn on the DRL’s.

Maybe this will solve your issue?

Great review! I have never had an aftermarket drop in Led lowbeam bulb that ever put out sufficient forward lighting output without having to use my fogs. Frankly, they just don’t shine out far enough or is bright enough in the low beam projectors.

I have the factory LED fogs with LAMINX film on them. When I was out driving around that night I turned them on and off a few times and couldn't even tell when they were on from the drivers seat. The LED's seem to have a fuller beam pattern even up closer and to the side of the truck where the fog lights usually help. You can kinda see the difference from the photos of my garage door, there is more light on the ground right in front of the truck with the LED bulb.

Just to clarify none of the photos above had my fogs or bumper light bar on. These photos were all just the low beams.

My HID’s are 3 years old. One has failed to come on one time a few months ago.

The lasfit h11 kit is what ill be going with next.

I told Lasfit I would follow up with a final review after 90 days of use and there is really nothing new to report since my initial install. I've been running these headlights every day in an attempt to get as many hours on them in a short span as possible. This ends up being about 2 hours a day every weekday with my commutes. I also went to Uwharrie in October which was about a 7.5 hour ride each way and up to Ellijay, Ga this weekend which was another 7 hour ride each way.

The night I pulled into Uwharrie the lights had been on for the whole trip so I'm assuming the housings were well over 100°F, then it dropped down to the high 20's that night. Then we were out bouncing around in the rocks the next two days. It was super dry there and I was with a bunch of other trucks so there was heavy dust in the air from everyone going through. I haven't had any issues with condensation/dust getting in the housings, flickering lights, exhaust fans, overheated wiring or anything. I am still happy with the lights / output and think this is a great option for anyone wanting to keep the stock housings like me. If I can get a couple years use out of these I would not hestitate to buy a set if they ever do fail on me.

The only thing I don't like is my stock halogen high beams are pretty much useless now with the amount of light I get from Lasfit low beams! I need to upgrade those now too.

Anybody flash their brights at you? Have you adjusted them down a bit if so?

I have not adjusted my headlights from the factory and have not had anyone flash their lights at me. My Bilstein lift is still slightly raked like the factory stance as I do a lot of towing. It might be different if you're sitting more level.

The entire trip to/from Uwharrie I was towing my camper trailer which has it a little nose high with all the tongue weight. That was mostly interstate towing though so maybe people would be flashing me if I was on 2-lane roads like that all the time.

great review. I have been on the fence about these Lasfits for a while. Since winter set in I have been using the headlights more. I dont run them in DRL ever. But they are terrible.
So, I may wait till after Christmas and get these. My old 55 year old eyes are having harder time see at night.
Our Benz, 2015 Mazda and 2016 Focus headlights are far better than the Toyota.
