Manly Horn

Has anyone found a good manly electric horn replacement for the 4Runner? What I mean by this is something more like a truck horn but is electric and plug and play. I’ve seen video online for such horns but I was wondering if anyone has any personal experience with upgrading their horns.

Thanks

I second the OP’s request . The stock horn is the equivalent of Pee Wee Herman .
Is there a direct replacement manly sounding horn out there that is a direct replacement plug and play ?

In the last 10 years I've maybe used my horn 3x. there are a lot of youtube videos on horn swaps.

There are Toyota Premium Horns;

Toyota (TOYOTA) Premium Horn bB [QNC20 QNC21 QNC25] 08522-B1010 | eBay

I replaced my factory horns with Fiamm horns a few years ago. Fairly recently I added Hella Sharptones on top of the Fiamm horns for 4 horns total.

The people on the RAV4 forum are gaga over these: Amazon.com: HELLA 012010901 Black 12V BX Trumpet Horn Kit (Toyota) : Automotive

They are certainly louder than the meep meep OEM horn, but not sure you would call them "manly".

Wonder if I could swap in the same factory horns that are on my GTI? They're loud "get the **** out of my way I'm doing 130mph on the Autobahn" horns.

That video does a before and after, but listening online does not make a convincing argument for a ~ $80.00 expenditure.

From what I understand it was supposed to have a better/louder sound than our factory horns. But I am not too sure as I have not installed them on mine - just came across them one day surfing the web...waste of money?? - I guess it depends on the person...

What I meant was I’m looking for a more deeper horn along the line of truck horn but one that is electric.

Yes a lot of the horns I came across are basically just louder horns but still sound like a car horn.
