2023 4Runner Trans. pan & Convert Temps PID's for Torque

Picked up a 2023 TRD Sport a little over a month ago. Got the Carlink Android 12.0 to access my IGO and Torque apps.

I tried the same PID's I use on my 08 4R. They wouldn't work on the 23.

So the search was on. Nothing current and couldn't download anything from Torque site said it wasn't compatible with my newer version android. I did find a few that were different from the 08 PID.

Found:
Transmission Temp Pan 2182 ((((A * 256) + B ) * (7/100)-400)/10)
Transmission Converter Temp 2182 ((((C * 256) + D ) * (7/100)-400)/10)

Wouldn't work on the 2023 but a few small changes.

Transmission Temp Pan 2182 (A * 256) + B ) * (7/100)-400)/10
Transmission Convrt. Temp 2182 (C * 256) + D ) * (7/100)-400)/10

Worked, Road tested and confirmed operation. Used my non contact thermometer to compare torque reading to the pan and it was within a few tenths.

As you can see not much difference between the two PID's but enough for one to work verses the other. Hope this helps someone.

This is odd. The version that you found to work isn’t even mathematically correct. It has 2 open and 4 closing parentheses. The version you found to not work at least has 5 opening and 5 closing parentheses. Try putting the “working” second version in a a calculator and it won’t be able to compute. The first version that doesn’t work will at least be able to compute a value.

Since the version that does work isn’t mathematically correct I can’t even determine what Order of Operations the correct equation would be to then compare if the first version is numerically correct .

Yeah I thought is was odd too. The first PID when entered in the Torque app wouldn't think about processing it. Then I got a wild hair to try the changes on the fly I don't know why I made them just frustrated at that point it calculated in the app . The numbers I'm getting are correct but don't understand why I it works but it does.

Check cold reading this morning and they are right on. I agree in theory it shouldn't work.

BTW: The first 2 I tried conflicted with 2 different senors.

((((A * 256)+ B)*(7/100)-400)/10)

Is what I have for my ‘21 in OBDLink. Appears the same. It’s a mystery . Glad you managed to make something work.

Been looking over things again.

Tried the ones that didn’t want to work and had a conflict and it went through and no conflicts and has the same exact readings as the one that worked. Weird right.

I did notice the area where you enter the equation formula only shows one ( not (((( I haven't had a chance to compare with the older system on in my other older runner.
