New Sliders

UPS just delivered my Westcott DOM/TIG 0-degree sliders! They look amazing, I will remove the "Predator" steps and install this weekend, along with a roof rack delete of the Pro basket. Loads of fun! Look at those welds ... Awesome.

The install went pretty smooth. There's a balance point on the Rock sliders that you can set on the saddle of a floor jack and lift it right up into place and get the bolts started. I also did a roof rack delete and got rid of the silly TRD basket.

Your 4Runner looks great!

I also removed my Predator steps and installed Westcott Designs sliders.

Those look sweet. Congrats.

The balance point you described is a great feature. I was able to install my RSG sliders myself but it was a bit of a grunt.

Same, it was doable but awkward.

What made it possible was propping the slider up on a couple of square buckets to get it close, then lifting up one end, get a bolt started, lift up the other end, start another bolt. Then I pulled the buckets and used the factory jack under a 2x4 to lift the whole thing from the middle and jockey the height to get all the holes to line up with the holes in the frame. The driver’s side took a little more creativity owing to the KDSS piping…

I think this methodology would be helpful no matter whose sliders are being mounted.

I tried the floor jack on a whim and was really quite surprised at how well it worked. It honestly made it easy to do yourself.

I put an old comforter on the floor in case it fell off the floor jack it wouldn't ding the powder coat.

I layed on my creeper. Pulled the slider on top of me. Rolled under the truck and lifted the end closest to my head into position and loosely attached a bolt. Pivoted and put in a bolt on the other end. Then the rest.

Any experience with them being wet or muddy? Just wondering how slippery they might be... we have kids.
