Passenger Tailight/Brakelight Doesn't Work with New Bulbs

On a trip to Tennessee, daughter backed into a pole and broke the passenger rear tailight. The outer colored lense part is gone and the inner plastic housing is also broken loose in part to the metal body of the truck. The bulb sockets look OK.
One bulb was obviously blown out, others looked OK with stable filaments.
Bought all new bulbs and still nothing works. Drivers side works well.
Don't have any tools with us.

Most vehicles are fused both sides together. Don't understand why passenger side does not work. Is each side fused separately?

What an I missing?

I’d check grounding of the assembly.

Thanks
That makes the most sense, just don't have any way of doing that right now.
Hate to buy any more duplicate tools.
Is the body of the lite fixture grounded thru a mounting screw or a separate ground wire?

That I wouldn’t know. Sorry. Might be an access door from inside the cargo area for changing bulbs, might be able to see the back of the assembly to determine. Or Google might bring up something on You Tube or somewhere about it.

I had this problem. I had to a metal pick and adjust the metal tabs in the socket.

For anyone that cares, here is the backside of a taillight.
All power comes from one socket, so if it fails as in the pic, there is nothing.

Had this problem. After troubleshooting, Cleaned the connections up with electronics cleaner, put some dielectric grease on it, then good to go!
