Go back and tell the shop manager immediately and see if an agreement as to what should be done can be worked out.

It will cost you a bit of time but no money.

Is there a warranty? What is listed on your paperwork and/or in their system? If they differ at all, you are probably going to have an issue if you have to have any repairs/warranty work done.

lol at the comments "you need a lift to fit them" full compression is the same regardless unless you extend your bumpstop to limit uptravel but carry on.......

I know... Why do we even bother posting personal experiences... 285s are so f/#@ng the end of the world for unmodified suspension we all who have them must doomed. Every one entitled to have opinion but for those who have no idea and no credibility in this matter please spare the humble ones who don't know and trying to learn from here.

Honda250xtitan's point is a lift does not solve clearance issues for larger tires on vehicles with independent front suspension.

FWIW, it looks like I can eliminate all rubbing with removing the mud flaps, a very slight trim on underside of front bumper cover, and pushing the fender liner back a bit. I have nearly 1" between tires at full lock and body mount, so no BMC would be necessary. I noted these tires are 32.76" and TRD wheels are +4 offset. So the positive offset and the fact these are on the small side for "33s" is probably helping.

But also yeah I'm going to let shop know and see what they have to say about the situation.

Edit: also wanted to add that I had them do an alignment since I was recently in a minor accident (rear ended and had to replace bumper cover and hatch.) So in doing the alignment they may have adjusted the caster to make these fit better. Again it's a head scratcher as to why the tire size wasn't caught at that point. Unless the tech just had 285s stuck in his head and didn't check the paperwork again after he'd already started.

Since you had them on a while you have had time to see if you can tolerate the power and mpg loss and determine the if you can live with it. .

I did! Explained the situation, and the manager called me back with a couple options. I could keep the 285s or come back to swap them out for 265s, and they would refund a portion of what I initially paid. I opted to keep the 285s. I'm supposed to be getting updated paperwork, but that hasn't been sent yet.

No issues with rubbing after the bumper trim, mudflap delete, and pushing the liners back. Seems to be working well and see no need for any further mods to make them work. I know I'll be taking a hit on MPG but I have a feeling I won't be going back to 265s ever again. LOL.

With just a sprinkle of angle grinder and dash of hammer, 35s will fit

Nevermind, I see you have a Pro. I had 1.5/1" Cornfed spacers on my Pro for 4 years without having to remove the mud flaps, no trimming or any mods whatsoever. It was a great setup on and off road. Think about getting another 285 on a Pro wheel and do a 5 tire rotation while they are all new. Either way, get a 285 spare. It fits in the spare tire well. Enjoy your 285's.

TuRD Pro, SR5, spacer lift, or 5 grand worth of coilovers with remote resis and secondary shocks make no difference.
