A local lighting engineer by trade has tested most of the premium brands and currently the Diode Dynamics lights are on top. Best part is he is TRULY independent and objective compared to some others who are paid by companies.

my lasfit driving optics are better than the Baja designs SAE optics.
now, my baja designs XL pro's are ridiculously bright and totally wash out the lasfits.

Again, everything depends on your own budgets and needs.

What makes you think he is not a truly independent tester? I've personally visited his house and seen his testing equipment and he's even demonstrated how several "testers" out there either using the incorrect or even literally Alibaba equipment.
What you're saying is you have a problem with output numbers demonstrated in an objective manner...
DD has a following for a reason and it's because they don't claim outlandish things like BD has in the past and perform as advertised. Unlike the Baja Designs SAE foglights for example....
The thread on TW is sourced so much because it provides ample information without the BS.
If you don't believe me then simply send a message to OP himself.

Practically everything is brighter than the Baja SAE offering. Including OEM foglights.

10-4. I’m off on a mule deer hunt right now. I’m tagged out and waiting on my hunting partner to get his, so I have some spare time. Lol
I’ll try to get some pics tomorrow.

Are you not capable of drawing your own conclusion through your own testing?
Please show me where I made this statement:
"What you're saying is you have a problem with output numbers demonstrated in an objective manner..."
Sounds like that above statement, is a good description of your own posts since you don't want to test the lights for yourself....
DD fanboys love that thread on TW because its the ONLY source they can quote, that makes it far from legitimate.
DD has a great marketing team.
Let me repeat it for you one more time;
I own both DD and Lasfit products and run both on my vehicle, and real world performance and construction are SIMILAR. You cant go wrong with either manufacture.
You don't have to believe me though, you can believe whatever you want to validate your purchase..ROFL.

I'm not up to spending thousands on testing equipment and I bet you aren't either. Especially when someone else has all the equipment already as a hobby?
1. Our eyes are not an objective light reading meter.
2. Name one place that has TRULY independent testing that isn't owned by a lighting company for the Lasfit offerings. I'm genuinely curious on the output.
Better yet, send them to the gentleman in the TW to keep the same baseline.
You keep stating that it's the only place that DD "Fanboys" cite their source and your statement is again subjective until proven with numbers. Not saying the lights are crap, but I want to see the actual output numbers.
That thread is the only place I've seen thus far that has continued to provide the numbers without BS.
If you are happy with the lights that's great, but saying they are the best doesn't work that way.
I hope they're close to keep the competition thriving for better products.

If a person decides to test a product, and nobody can verify the test results, that does not make it objective, or conclusive. I'm not saying the results are false, but its far from considered conclusive or factual, nor is it considered a credible source. IF someone is dumb enough to quote someone else's unverifiable work...well you might get some raised eyebrows.
Now if you want to compare your own experiences with someone else's experiences (such as the OP on TW) then thats legit..but thats not what you are doing.
DD fanboy's love to quote sources that they themselves cannot verify. Why is that?
I never said Lasfit is the best in this thread. Are you trying to validate your statements or something?
The OP on TW can reach out to lasfit on his own time, or let me guess, he won't test products unless he gets it for free...hmmmm....
Seriously, why don't you post about your experiences with aftermarket lights and post some pictures, vs. posting other people's experiences and pretending its some kind of gospel. You might gain some credibility.
I just love how people love to use 3rd party experiences in lieu of their own experience and think it has the same level of credibility...
Anyways, I've already said my piece. Feel free to misconstrue my statements as much as you want to fit whatever narrative you like..lol. I'm going to get back to commenting on lighting.
cheers

maybe baja and rigid SAE replacements is to cater to the OEM manufacture's specs, not necessarily to improve on those specs, in order not to create a nuicense when used on-road/freeway/hwy.
Another theory, is they went through the dot/sae process before other manufactures jumped into the game, and since they wanted to get fast approval, had a more conservative approach to lighting output and lens design...who knows.
I'm just happy we have alot of manufactures to choose from these days.

What I find interesting is that no where did I as the OP of this thread make the claim that these are emphatically the best. It was posed as a question for my fellow 4Runner owners to research and find out for themselves.
I make this very clear before posting the video that I would like to do further comparisons. I know everyone has their own opinion, some are brand loyal, others have deep pockets, others are on a budget. I just want to continue to bring a plethora of content to help you make a decision one way or the other for what is right for you.
I’m hoping this can steer back to a more focused thread. What do you run and WHY?, is it based on reputation, a video you watched, real world experience?. How have they proven themselves and their durability?, was cost a factor for you?

I got the diode dynamics SS3 Pro ditch light kit (comes with brackets, plug and play wiring and switch) from hotshot offroad for $370. Price is hard to beat for the quality of these.
I love them and most definitely would recommend.
Hotshot off road had a sale a couple months ago that they posted on the forum. It was my first time ordering from them and they were really good with fast shipping
