5th gen brake problem

Hi everyone,

Hoping someone can give me some insight into the problem I am having.

I recently decided to clean and grease my brakes. I had some uneven wear on the rotor. I started with the front driver's side, and noticed the pins that maintain the pad position on the front caliper looked a little dry and dirty. I decided to take the calipers off and wipe the dirt off and grease the piston boots and pins and backs of the pads. I went to put it back on and put the brake line back into the caliper. I turned the power on so the master cylinder pump had power. When I pressed the brake pedal, fluid started to leak from where the line goes into the caliper. I figured I needed to tighten it, so once I did that, when pressing the brake fluid started to shoot back up through the fitting. I assumed I had cracked the line, so I ordered new OEM pre bent lines. I have the same issue. It appears the flared end has some wiggle room inside the caliper. I tried to tightend it down, but it still seems to be loose in there.

Any thoughts? Hoping to fix it this weekend.

Thanks in advance!

You don't have same problem on passenger side? Maybe some piece of debris got into the fitting bore on caliper and is now mashed into threads not allowing a good seat. I would take a close look in that bore and see if you see anything.

Hadn't gotten that far. Was the first caliper I started with. I thought I had read somewhere that the fitting needs to be tightened and loosened 10-20 times so it sets properly and dislodges debris. I guess I will have to start with that.
