As far as I know the warranty is valid in the US. This was challenged back in 2008-2010 when the Canadian dollar was worth more or equal to the US dollar. Canadians were flocking south to buy trucks at crazy low prices. Dealerships were threatened with losing their dealership if they sold to Canadians. Most continued to sell but some of the dealers in Canada were mad that people weren't paying their crazy prices so they started to refuse warranty work.
Lots of people move to the US from Canada and bring their vehicle with them, import it and register it in the US and the warranty follows.
I do see the speedometer in kms being a turn off for some. Lots of Canadians don't like having to drive a vehicle in mph.
