In 2021 I couldn't even get a shop to take my business. no one had availability... sliders would be the very last mod because I don't really need them. I have a 2012 and the unused frame holes would all need to be tapped/cleaned out from years of gunk/rust buildup. I swear every bolt is a fight to remove at this point after so many years. suspension and sliders is just too much for me to do myself and honestly suspension is beyond my skillset and tool selection at home lol. sliders would just be a pain in the ass. if my 4runner was a project car and not a daily driver that I could work on leisurely and take as long as I wanted and spread the work over a few days or weeks to learn then I'd attempt it
for your sliders did you just remove the rocker trim or swap to a trail trim?

Removing the XREAS is easy. Get a large set of bolt cutters, a rag and a bucket. I was originally going to remove nicely to maybe re sell, but screw that. I cut the hard lines at each shock as the flare nuts were going nowhere due to corrosion. Pressure relief with rag over it not to bad. Then i manually removed the hard lines along the frame rail on both sides followed by the booster. On the drivers side front the hard lines cross the vehicle. Once depressurized and chopped they are easy to get out.
The sliders? No problem...just dont drop it on your face like me.. hehe
Anyhow only major issue was on the sliders I had to drill two holes on one side and use stick nuts to fasten it. Easy. Cobalt bits go through the frame no problem at all. I rigged up a wooden death like assembly and put sliders on service jack and moved them into position then lifted to get close to holes..bolt one hole partially in and then do the rest. Its not so bad.
If you need any tips on XREAS let me know.
