I do want to ask, because its something that I've seen a lot of in various forums, but Discount tire seems to the be source of a lot of complaints about tires from our American friends. Is this just a coincidence or is Discount Tire a known lower quality tire and/or workmanship?
I do like the tread pattern and the style of the Falken RTs you linked. I'd really like to go with a MT tire on my next set, but being from Alberta, i'd have to run a set of dedicated winters if i did that. My preference is to stay with an all around AT tire, so maybe this new RT would be a consideration.

Discount Tire is just a chain tire store, so I don't think they would have effect on tire quality. I love Discount Tire, they offer free life time balance and rotation. You can also buy "Tire Certs" and they will replace your tire no questions asked for a deductible...I think it is like $40 now. So I replaced almost $600 worth of tires for $80.
I really like the tread design of the RT's. I am hoping for some tall skinnies out of them since they already have 255/80 in the AT3W's. I was hoping to jump up in size but this might make me stay with that tire size.
