Strip black TRD exhaust???

Hi all,

My black TRD exhaust is starting to look really ugly even only after a year of being installed. I thought it was just dirty so I tried cleaning it but to no avail. I think it is some sort of chemical reaction under the clearcoat which cleaning won't get to. I'm thinking of possibly stripping the black paint/powdercoat off to leave an unfinished look like the rest of the exhaust?

1. What can I use to strip it off? Some over the counter paint stripper from a hardware store?

2. Would this be a good idea? Or would it leave an unwanted look/finish as a result?

Thanks in advance!

its just an exhaust tip who cares...... if it bothers you that much just use Rust-Oleum High Heat Spray Paint on it.
