They had a gray 2019 on lot with 31K and want $47,997, when I told them that they said that one is certified and went through the shop. I told them mine was just inspected by them and had Toyota care service done. They said that is the Auction price for mine, I got up and walked out, they keep calling me but I won't answer or respond to emails. Screw them !
They also showed me a paper with what is costs them to certify and pay for advertising and sit on lot for 30 days. I told them that was just a sales tactic to get trade ins for less money.

The certification is a scam to me. It’s just a way for them to make money. I would tell them to FO too. There a difference between making a reasonable profit margin and ripping people off.
Don’t be afraid to look outside your area. I live in California and bought mine in Denver. Even with the prices of a plane ticket and the cost of gas, food and hotel to drive it back it was still several thousand dollars cheaper than if I bought it from my local dealer.
