Differential fluid transfer pump?
Anybody recommend any preferably electronic or otherwise decent oil fluid transfer pump? Need it for the differentials. I was going with Redline GL5 75w90 as their 75w85 is still only a GL4, but the Redline from what I see still doesnt come in easy use squeezy bottles or bags, hence the pump. I use to use a simple cartridge type pump, looked like a grease gun with a hose. It worked but was messy, was hoping somebody could recommend something alittle easier to use. Thanks!

Also I see Redline makes 75w85 now that is GL5 rated, anybody use this over the standard 75w90? I think the OEM is 75w85 but dealers dont use it other than factory fill with dealers using non synthetic 75w90 as its quite cheap in comparison to a drum of the synthetic grades.

I haven't had issues but I'm in Derpifornia so it doesn't get all that cold most of the time.

You could but this has a Schrader valve and is built to withstand more pressure. Hook it to a compressor and you're off. Plus the oil may break down the garden sprayer over time.

For a couple $ you can add a Schrader valve. For the rear differential, you’re looking at 2.9 quarts. I just did this last week and it’s about 3 rounds of pumping. Pump is all plastic with Viton seals, so it holds up to oil just fine. Have used mine for 2+ years now. Actually have 2 so I don’t have to clean them out between gear oil and ATF changes. Just offering very viable and much cheaper alternatives.

Ugh gotta figure out what to get!
Guys did you use 75w85 GL5 or 75w90 GL5? I think for the diff with no locker its 2.9 quarts but OEM is 85 weight, but 85 weight not very common to find. Whats the consensus use the 90 or keep the 85? I have a source for 3 bottles of 85, but that leaves me zero room.... for spillage..

People have been using any off the shelf 75/90 oil for years without issues.

Thanks, looks like ill get the 90. I doubt my dealer even sells the 85 let alone use it. When they rebuilt my front diff (after a catastrophic self inflicted failure) they used 90 mineral and said no synthetic ever... inventory costs and all

I bought a little pump at autozone for about 11 bucks. Works like a champ on transmission service. I guess it would just be a little slower with gear oil.
It's a little hand pump with a hose on each end.

We just rolled over 316K miles today on a 2014 SR5. In the differentials I’m running Mobil or Valvoline Synthetic 75w90 LS (Limited Slip). I do the fluid changes and the scoreboard don’t lie.

75/90 synthetic out of squeeze bags are EVERYWHERE and will work GREAT. 75/140 synthetic out of squeeze bags works just fine in the diffs as well, I know because that's what is in mine.

what are most of you running for average dump intervals for front and rear diffs?
