Help Shopping for a TRD Pro

Hey there, I'm a new member and shopping for a 4Runner Pro. Prices are way up so I want to ask some questions to make sure I get the right rig. I've searched for answers to these questions and haven't had much luck.

1. Is ApplePlay wireless in the 5th gen or do you need to plug in the cable to your phone for it to work?

2. Does the Pro models have fold down rear seats that leave the back flush (in the event you wanted to sleep in back)?

3. Can the Pro roof rack be easily unbolted? It might be too high for my garage door. I don't want to unbolt it from the body if it leaves exposed holes. I'm hoping it unbolts from some sort of frame.

4. Do all 2020-2023 Pro's have the Fox shocks?

5. Any other big changes in the Pro model between 2020 and 2023?

Thanks for the help!

I'll do my best here but we have a 22 ORP so bear that in mind.

1) We have to use a cable, no wireless option that I can tell.

2) Ours are pretty flush, if not totally flat. I'd venture to say you could sleep in it comfortably and I plan on testing ours for this next summer.

3) Tons of people selling their Pro racks locally so it's gotta be pretty easy to take off.

4) Fox seems to be the Pro suspension all around.

5) I think blind spot monitoring, radar cruise, and terrain cameras were all introduced in the last couple years but I'm not sure exactly what the breakdown is.

Hope this helps and early congrats on the new rig! Let us know how it turns out!

Overall good responses but I'll add a bit more details to these for the OP
For info, I have a 2022 Pro

1. cable only, BUT wireless possible with lots of aftermarket dongles on amazon

2. not entirely flat unless it has the sliding tray installed. Personally, I don't have the tray and sleep fine on an air mattress. The small dip doesnt bother me. Others have built platforms (a fairly easy DIY mod) to make it perfectly flat

3. Very easy to remove although take your time and do it with the proper tools as there's red locktite on the bolts and it'll make it a pain if they break. I've removed mine for a GOBI rack. If OP plans on completely removing the rack, fill the holes with OEM parts that need to be purchased like said on the post above mine. For info I sold my Pro rack for $500 on offer up shortly after I took delivery of the 4R.

4. correct. It used to be Bilstein. They changed to FOX before 2020 (in 2017?2018?)

5. I think it goes as follows (but not entirely sure)
added in 2021, radar cruise. In 2022, blind spot monitoring, terrain monitoring system and birds eye view. In 2023, heated steering wheel.
I think Toyota safety sense has been added in 2020? And I have LED headlights on my 2022, not sure when it was added

2. Yes they fold down. With the slide-out tray, it's pretty flat. I've camped by there a number of times. Recommend some sort of padding though.

3. Yes it comes off easily. Heat up the bolts as they have loctite on them, and remove the bolts on each corner evenly to avoid shifting the bracket and/or potentially dropping it.

Thanks for all the input, much appreciated.

Here are a few more....

1. Do the mirrors have an electronic folding capability? Curious because my garage door is only 8'.

2. Does anyone know the height of the Pro with the rack? I'm only 7' on the garage height.

3. Curious how well people like the trailering capabilities. I would probably only pull a two place snowmobile trailer. I'm guessing the 4Runner squats easily. But I'm also thinking the 5spd doesn't handle pulling well up hills (I'm in Colorado).

4. Did everyone realize that the Solar Octane color is actually a wrap over the Lime color? Just saw that on a YouTube video.

That was for press and preview vehicles, not production.

.
I pull a utility trailer with my ATV on it. No noticeable squat. No problems on steep hills with the transmission (think CO highway 62, Dallas divide). Just have to take it slower.

They all have Fox shocks but the suspension was retuned in 2021 for better off-roading and higher speeds on the highway.

Standard LED high, low beams and fog lights started in 2021.

Flow-form alloy wheels in 2021. Lighter and has concave dish like design compared to previous years.

1. the 4R does not have any trim with power folding mirrors straight from the factory. There are aftermarket options but I don't know how they hold over time

Free Shipping Power automatic folding - unfolding mechanism mirrors Toyota 4Runner 2014-2023

2. 78 inches if I recall properly. if your garage is 7 feet, you will be fine

3. The most I've towed is a trailer with 2 motorcycles on it. No issue whatsoever and no squatting with the amount of weight so you should be more than fine with a snowmobile. If going up on a hill, put the shifter in S mode and manually select 3rd or 4th gear depending on the hill. It won't be as smooth as a full size pick up truck but you'll be fine
