P2121 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor. Pedal Commander (maybe)

I have a 2016 Limited with only 78,000 miles. Truck is limp mode, will not go above 60mph. Check engine light just came on with this code. I have had a Pedal Commander on my 4Runner for about 6 months. Does anyone think that the Pedal Command could have caused this issue?

Is this a easy or complicated repair?

Thanks

Hard to say, but my first step would be fl unplug the PC. Then scan for the code, read what it says. You can try clearing the code with PC unplugged and see if that fixes it.

Ive had this code come up multiple times during some rougher offroading and it will go into limp mode. I also run a pedal commander and keep my carista with me to clear the code.

The techs at PC asked me to disconnect all the plugs on the PC and check that they were clean. Then hook everything back up and make sure all the plugs are seated well with no play.

I ran through this process and haven't had the code come back up for a few years. BOL

I have a 2016 and the pedal commander for around 5 years. A couple notches above suck OEM response. No issue so far.

What are the settings on it? Mine are pretty moderate. I would try turning it down and reset the code to see if it reappears.

That worked. Took the plugs apart and blew them out with compressed air.

Thanks

Set on one of the lowest. Took some cleaning and everything works now.

Thanks

I was doing research on deciding if I wanted to get a PC. Ran across some people saying "limp mode" may have been caused due to changing modes while having the food on the gas pedal
