might be a TRD parts sale or toyota parts sale coming up, its cheaper to buy the parts separate. There are a few threads regarding what parts are needed. I installed one this past year and its not really worth it, MPG drop by .5, not really a noticeable HP/TQ gain from it, sounds fine though. I might be in at around $200 or so for it all.

Yeah? You think you lost a little mpg? I'm not really looking to do it for mpg gain but a slight increase would have been a bonus. I have a TRD PRO with the TRD exhaust and was thinking it would complete the package. Every little power gain can help.

I've never followed super close but my stock '15 Limited on-board computer has always stayed right at 18mpg. I've had my TRD Pro intake for a little over two months and it's now just a hair under 19. Thought it would drop a little due to putting my foot into it a little more often for the sound, but it's actually improved a little.

Apparently, the TRD filter has been discontinued. Can't find one anywhere. It was made by K& N

toyota and TRD 20% sales are random when they occur. As for the TRD air filter I think in the forum I posted people mentioned it created a whistle sound while driving so i stuck with the stock one.

Half of the advantage of the cold air intake is the increased airflow created by using the TRD filter. It is basically a K&N filter. Is there that much of an advantage if you're using the stock filter? At that point, the CAI is simply removing the baffles. There is a great YouTube video that someone posted on another threat about a filter test, where many top brand air filters were tested for airflow and particulate filtering power. They were also tested in a Chevy truck, one by one, with a 0-60 time recorded. The K&N filter provided, by far, the best airflow. The vehicle tested also achieved the best 0-60 time while using the K&N filter. On the flip side, the K&N filter was, by far, the worst at filtering out particulates. And, I mean, by a long shot. I wonder if Toyota stopped making the filter for fears of lowering engine longevity.

I've had the TRD CAI intake now for three years. Noticed ZERO benefits aside from looking cooler when the hood's open. Secondly, I'm on my second filter box as the first one had tab failures and I lost both clamps.
I think that is due to the TRD filter (K&N) being too thick and the clamps were really struggling to latch. With any movement, heat and few years of wear and tear, the plastic tabs holding the clamps broke off...so I ordered a new one.
Personally, save your money and don't even bother with the CAI. It's worthless aside from cool factor. As for those looking for a filter to put into your CAI, just use your stock one. They're the same sh*t.

Completely agree. Unless you're going to switch over to premium fuel your CAI gains will be negligible at best irregardless of which filter you run.
