Replaced mine on first oil change.

Just out of a preference for durable metal parts over plastic.

Have seen too many plastic automotive parts become brittle over time.

Was simple, available, and inexpensive so I did it.

As I have already stated, I am still on original plastics hosing- no issues after 100k and 20 oil changes.
