Lower gears "noisy"?

Im noticing and have been noticing a small sound when driving slowly since regearing down to 488s and its only when giving her gas. is this usuall? I aks because my other trucks never did it, and they were installed by a legit shop. other small issue is smelling gear oil even after 500 break in drain/fill and now 2k miles later. dont want to ***** until I investigate myself, So this forum is my my first step. thank ya'll

4.88 can be noisy (mine was and still is) and the gear oil smell should have burned off by now though.

Mine had a slight whine, called Nitro and was told there should be absolutely no noise. Had it readjusted and it’s been quite since.

If they are setup correctly, they shouldn't be noticeably louder than OEM. If you are smelling gear oil, very likely it is being spit out through the breather. Mine did this for a few thousand miles after break in, but quit soon after and have been trouble free for over 200k miles
