BFG K02's 265/70/17 REALLY sketchy in the rain
I recall reading someone's post about these tires being sketchy in the rain. I sort of ignore that and bought them anyway for my 2016 TE. We don't get too much rain in so Cal so I sort of discounted that and I was really wanting these tires. I'll have to say in the dirt they are great but when rains came I was alarmed at the ease of the vehicle sliding when turning a corner at even slow speeds. Doing a hard break is fine as long as the vehicle is traveling straight. But going around a corner is freaking scarry. I would never buy these tires again and I'm going back to the tire store and see if they can swap them out for something else. I have no other mods and in dry weather the handling is great.
Anyone else notice this?

cali drivers......
when it rains....scariest tires in the universe.
when it snows...scariest tires in the universe.
when its cloudy...scariest tires in the univerise
when you have to make a right hand turn..scariest tires in the universe
when you have to make a left hand turn...scariest tires in the universe
When you put the car in reverse...scariest tires in the universe.
when you have to brake..scariest tires in the universe
when you have to accelerate...scariest tires in the universe.
FYI, i also live in cali's, and had ko2's before and now roll on MT's....so i must have a death wish. I gotta call uber when i wanna go to the mall on most days, because my tires are too scary to drive on.

Marginal wet traction has been a BFG A/T trait since the 80's, IME.

They haven't been good of a tire since the 80s and 90s but everyone faps to them because Ivan Stewart drove a Toyota and that Toyota has a big BFG sticker on the side of it.

You're lucky you never ran the original KO's. The KO 2 is a massive improvement over them. Truly frightening in any type of precipitation

I am a KO2 hater. Very dangerous on wet roads. I hate them so much that I sold them with <200 miles on wife’s brand new Wrangler.

From what I have read about them on here over the years, I don’t see why anyone would buy them.

Almost got them myself but opted for the Falken Rubitreks. They have been a stellar tire thus far w/about 15k on them now. I drive like a madman too so I’m a decent test dummy. Snow emergencies and rain included, never an issue. As with any tire, you have to keep up on rotations to get the life out of them and to maintain the safest ride as they wear.

I run KO2's on my full size truck and my wife's 4Runner. No complaints in rain, or snow...

I see this as a very common complaint on here. Most of my adverse weather driving is rain. So I opted for the Falken Wildpeak AT3W. Never a problem in bad weather.

Same here, 30k miles in mixed weather conditions.. no problems here… I would make sure they’re inflated to the correct PSI.

Slow it down maybe...?
I run KO2's 275/70/17 in Oregon, rains 8 months a year, snows once a year, icy mornings 10-25 times a year. Haven't noticed anything like you described.
Good wear too...I'm at 60k and can probably get another 5-10k out of them.
When these are toast, I'll get another set only larger @285/70/17's.
My only complaint is, they are a bit noisy. But that's to be expected with any tire of this type, especially as to starts to wear down.

Thanks for all the feedback.
I had the PSI at 36 so I lowered them to 32 for now and see if that helps.
