Apple Car Play

I have a 2015 T4R Limited and want to upgrade to AppleCar play to use some of the features of my phone.

Do you guys have any tips on how to Add Apple Car Play or what would be a good upgrade to go with.

Thanks
ZEMMY

You can't add it. You would have to replace the head unit (radio).

check out trail grid pro , TGP sells complete plug and plug and play systems. I have a sony 8100 model from them. Install takes all of 10 minutes if you know what you are doing.

I have BeatSonic’s Car Play system in my 2018 and it works great. It allowed me to keep the OEM head unit and all of its functionality while getting CarPlay albeit on the small factory screen. It requires essentially pulling a good portion of the center dash apart but they include detailed instructions and it looks like it has CarPlay from the factory. Unfortunately it’s a lot more expensive than it was when I pre ordered it in 2021 but if you want to keep the factory stereo it’s the only option.

There are a lot of aftermarket systems out there that have CarPlay but all that I looked at in researching were cheaply made and BeatSonic had the best solution for what I wanted, but there are other options with larger screens.

You can search for reviews on YouTube of the BeatSonic system that can help show what it looks like, but feel free to DM me if you have questions.

Crutchfield.com and choose a headunit. They have the dash kit, wiring harness and interface to keep all the OEM functions.

Go to Crutchfield or to TrailGridPro.

I would avoid the T9/T10 family of head units unless you REALLY want to have to dig through issues and you enjoy using FaceBook. I have a T9 so I speak from experience. I wish I'd gone the way I recommend above rather than trying to save some money.

When I was deciding which to buy I came across a t9/10 unit for about $200 on FB market and passed on it. I have the 8100 and its been solid, few hiccups when connecting for apple car play (usb) but other than that no issues. I mainly use apple car play all the time now.

Get a new head unit. You can also do wireless carplay for any platform.

Kenwood DMX series is awsome.
