No 4WD - Fuse AM2 controls it

So....put the 4R in 4H just as I do now and then to confirm operation....and no response! No light on dash. It would go into 4L but no power to the front wheels.

I dug through the manual and on-line but there is NO fuse labeled for the 4WD system anywhere.

Pulled and checked all fuse on drivers side, all good.

Checked all fuses under the hood and found #27 AM2 7.5A STARTER SYSTEM to be 'missing'. There was a 7.5A fuse in #28 Mayday Safety Connect, which my vehicle was/is not equipped.

Moved that fuse over to the #27 AM2 slot and the 4WD system was 100% active again.

I will put a fuse back in #28 tomorrow just to have it there, and as a spare. This fall I wired a dash cash and blew a fuse and wonder if I put it back in the wrong location. Usually I triple check things like that though. I was checking them all to see which one went.

Either case I could not find anything on-line for the fuse that controls the system so I thought I would post in case it helps someone else on here down the line.

His sig says 2010, so lever. Regardless of transfer case actuation, if the front axle disconnect motor isn't working, you are stuck in 2wd

It is very strange as I have read a few posts about the AM2 fuse being blown and the 4R's not starting, which makes sense as it is labeled for the starter system. I have no idea why there was no impact on my 4R with it totally out of the slot.

Mine does not have the SOS system but the underside of my fuse cover does have it listed.

That said when the 4R's were first being introduced their website and paperwork said the SR5's would have the SOS standard, only when there were starting to arrive did they correct that to only the higher trim level. I wonder if that is why I have a fuse for that system as it was half designed for it but never fully implemented.

Still does not answer the odd question about the AM2 fuse, guess I will take the win where I can get it!

2wd?

Excuse my lack of info, but does this mean that I can disable my 4WD and snow drift in 2WD? I had a 2005 Limited and was able switch from between 2WD/4H/4L plus the diff lock switch. I ran a switch to a wire on the master brake cylinder to disable trac cont and ABS and drift all night in rear wheel drive. I just bought a 2010 Limited and it seems that like the V8's, it's full time AWD. Can I pull a fuse or run a switch and be rear wheel drive?? Also, what do H4F, H4L & L4L stand for?

So, I pulled the AM2 fuse...didn't start. Put it back and pulled fuse #25 (labeled "4WD") from the driver-side interior fuse box and it appears that ABS, Trac Cont and VSC are disabled but, unfortunately, it's not in 2WD/rear wheel only. Anything I can do to disengage the front axle? Is there a difference between the Limited and SR5 that allows the SR5 to be 2WD but not the Limited?

I am having nearly this exact problem with my ’20 TRD OffRoad. It has been flawless in 140000kms and I put it in 4H last night in a snowy and icy parking lot and everything was normal, took it out while I left the community and about a mile down the road shifted it back in at an icy intersection and nothing, and nothing ever since!! No 4WD related dash lights at all . I tried shifting into 4L and it’s definitely in low range but still no power at the front wheels. I pulled the 20A 4WD fuse and it looks fine. Any and all suggestions are extremely welcome!!

Thanks for your time
