Replacement Shocks for TRD PRO 4runner

Hey everyone,
Would love to hear your insight on what shocks I should replace my Bilstein TRD PRO shocks with. They recently gave out on me and I need something with similar quality. I am not looking to spend a whole lot, so I am on a budget lol.

I am looking for JUST the shocks, not the springs too. I am currently running Toytec’s 2.5” springs in the front, and coils in rear.

Honestly kind of feeling stuck right now, any feedback and help would be appreciated.

Those springs are not the same as standard springs on the regular 4runner models, so you can't replace just the shocks with 5100's etc. for 6112's (identical aftermarket equivalent) I think you need to buy the pair with springs included all over again.

Either way you are looking at a new front setup.

No idea what your budget is.

Don't have a TRD Pro, but just got these

Toyota 4Runner 2010-2022 - Set of 4 Bilstein 5100 Series Adjustable Height Shock (0-2.5" Front Lift) | Jack-It

Or you can go with a much heavier set

Bilstein 47-259768-25-313154 4Runner 2010-2022 Toyota 4wd Bilstein 6112 Series Coil-Over / 5160 Reservoir shock Kit Adjustable Height Set of 4 | Jack-It

These are the much better, but are priced as each

Bilstein 41-284568 4Runner 2010-2022 Toyota 4wd - Bilstein FRONT LEFT B8 8112 Zone Control Coil-Over (fits w/0.5-3.8" Front Lift) | Jack-It

Thanks for your help, the comment under yours sent a link that is the 5100’s.. What shocks are good for the rear? And your saying with my toytec front springs, I can’t run 5100’s? Thanks in advance

Correct. If you have the TRD Pro bilsteins(which are bilstein 6112) The springs will not fit 5100's as 5100's are smaller diameter(2" vs 2.5"). Easiest way to describe it is this:

-If you go with bilstein 6112's again they only come as a set including springs, but you can swap them out for your toytec lit springs.
-If you go with 5100's you will need to buy new springs.
-5100's would be a downgrade from your current front setup.

For the rear the TRD Pro rears are bilstein 5160's. you could do 5100's in the rear as the main difference is no reservoir; which seems to be more prone to leaking vs 5100's anyway. No diameter difference between 5100 and 5160 so not much of a downgrade if any.

Are you saying 5160 is more prone to leaking compared to 5100? I drive Prado 150 in Asia. Thinking about installing 6112/5160. If you are saying 5160 is more prone to leaking, I may install 5100 in the rear. Thanks

the 5160's seem to do better now. BUT the 5100 is a more bulletproof setup anyways, no fittings, no reservoirs
