5th Gen headlamp is out, so I need to replace?

My drivers side headlamp is out (main bulb burnt out) on my 2013 sr5, is it correct that I need to replace the whole headlamp unit ? Thanks.

Sorry in advance, I could not find the thread that addresses this question.

You definitely dont have to replace the headlight itself. Just the bulb(s).

Low Beam is an H11 type
High beam is a 9005 type

All of the bulb types for our 4runner can be referenced here:

My passenger headlight went out. Just a bulb replacement, no headlight replacement like the cars from the 60's.

In my case I mod H9's to fit. Work great and lasted 4 years.

Your owners manual can confirm the proper bulb part #'s. Unless, you have aftermarket replacement lights. Then you'll have to check them or the information that came with them.

Make sure you replace both bulbs. Bulbs get dimmer as they age and you don't want one significantly brighter than the other.

Converted H9’s work really well for the 2010-2013 low beams.
